NC has all four seasons in ONE day from late October to around April, however, as of late it's been consistently warm. Oh, not last night. It was freezing. I was waiting outside, and doors wouldn't open for an hour and half! Finally, this very kind gentleman told me and the guy sitting next to me that we could go inside where the ticket booths were and sit. GOD BLESS YOU. The Regulars were in there. This guy named Doug came in and high-fives everyone then walked over to the ticket booth. He asked about the guest list and of course he was on it. He had a large picture frame, but I couldn't tell who was in it. A few moments later a very handsome British guy came in and got Doug and another fan. Obviously to meet Morrissey. I was excited for them; I can't imagine. Just out of curiosity, does anyone know who the British guy is? When I entered the theater, first thing that came to mind was Solo and FWD. I couldn't get close enough to the stage, but thankfully the picture isn't too bad. We were packed into this place like Sardines. It's a nice theater, but I'd forgotten that it was primarily blood red - carpet and seats. I was there early, so I listened to the beautiful instrumental music playing while waiting for the songs to begin. When the video's started there were mixed reactions, but everyone was excited for Bowie and The Ramones. I think a few, very few people were getting irritated with the videos. I heard low voices say, "When's he coming on?"

The moment arrived. He walked out on stage and started to sing Carolina in The Morning. He's done this before, so I knew what he'd do. He sang, "Nothing could be finer............." and went straight into Fatty. I tried to get video, but it was everything I could do just to see over all the tall people. I'm 5'2, so it was frustrating. As far as banter goes, he did talk about being sick of politics and of opinions. He also stated, and I LOVED this, that he wanted to go into the woods and find a house, buy a little pig, and he would be happy. He said that they have had a great time in all the cities (and he named them) they've played in so far. I hope we didn't disappoint! At the end of Pigsty, in Morrissey fashion, he hid behind the speakers. At this point is when Camila played her piano solo part, and he remained behind the speakers to give her the spotlight. Jack the Ripper is one of my favorite songs and it was so much fun! His silhouette shining through all the smoke/fog with the eerie blood red lighting, well, that's right up my ally. He started to sing "Rats, rats, rats, everywhere! They're everywhere!" and "your fat little face, your chubby fat face!" Of course, all of the popular songs got a huge response, but I think people really like the new songs, too. I LOVE them. It's so different, obviously, when you listen on your computer/phone etc., then when you hear them live and you're actually there. I liked the songs before, but I absolutely love them now. I don't know how to get him a deal, but somehow, it's got to happen. I can't remember which song this happened, but Morrissey was trying to get Camila's attention. She didn't see him, so Morrissey started waving his arms at her like an SOS wave to a helicopter when you're stranded on top of a building. It was cute. The dreaded encore...Was Speedway. He said that he could only get excited in parked cars! And then thanked us. NO THANK YOU, MOZ. He said he had been excited tonight. My heart started to crack at this point because I knew he was going and....will...I ever....see...
The song was going quite well and in the darkness during the break, he was singing, "If you love me, say you love me" and I screamed as loud as I could "I LOVE YOU!!" (Forgot to mention, there were a few people last night who got on stage, but they were all very gentle.) At the end of Speedway, though, Doug jumps up on stage and was singing with Morrissey, well, sang to him, and was bowing down to Morrissey and hugging him, but I feel that it took Morrissey away from his audience. Oh well. Suddenly in a split of a second, he was gone. Poof.

About the band: I love Camila to death. She is just so adorable, and she has such amazing talent. I could have listened to her play all night. I've never really had the chance to see her much. I'm glad she is in the band. Carmen wore all white and she is brilliant. She does play with an edge, it's in her personality, it flows through her veins and right out of fingers. Not to mention, she's just breathtaking. Matt played fiercely like he always does. During Pigsty, he was incredible. Jesse also plays with an edge, as we know, but here's the thing and it hit me during the show. Jesse and Carmen complement each other because they are in sync. When Alain or Boz played, he didn't quite fit in and while they played, he just sounded off. Now that there's a guitarist onboard who does fit his style, the songs come out sounding different - a little more aggressive - but it sounds wonderful. I have said unkind things about Jesse in the past and I'm ashamed of that now. I couldn't see it before, but I've got it now. I really like Jesse. I didn't see Jaun last night. Not until they introduced themselves. He seems to blend in, which isn't a bad thing because he sounded awesome, but I think he may be a little shy.

Welp. That's it. I wish I could relive this experience every day for the rest of my life. Or, at least, dare I say it, dare I wish for it, he comes back.

It was not cold outside

Enjoying all of the reports on this current tour. Seems like Morrissey is on good form! I hope rumours of a UK tour next year are true...
He is definitely on good form. Playing one hour and a half plus, which is a pleasant surprise in itself. And the band, to my ears , is clicking big time. Been to 4 of the 6 gigs, so far, and plan to be in Baltimore on Tuesday

I

This is so silly, but no , it was not cold. Please check the calendar 📅

but wasn’t hand in glove taking about the night of the show Nov 9th?

Thank you so much for all the insights and for taking the time for bringing the night alive for us in amazing detail. I loved reading it! I wonder who the handsome guy is? One of the family members?

Thank you for taking the time to share what it was like at the show! It’s sounds like it was an extra special night. Here’s to many more!

Jesse me gusta mucho. Anoche no vi a Jaun.

Oh, no anoche.

Cantó "Nothing could be finer............" y pasó directamente a Fatty. ME ENCANTAN. NO, GRACIAS, MOZ.
Puf.

'Worst thing ever was 24 hour news dominating our lives with crap, crap, crap... When I go to Rochester, I'm going to go into the woods and find a little house and buy a little pig and I'll be perfectly happy. I'm just sick of information, I am just sick of opinions."

Trees

By Joyce Kilmer

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

Trees, along with the sort of people who work with trees, are among the dwindling joys in life that can make me euphoric and give me hope.

... That's it. I wish I could relive this experience every day for the rest of my life. Or, at least, dare I say it, dare I wish for it, he comes back.

Happy for ya!
:highfive:
I wasn't there, very sadly, just quoting from the video.
Kind of you to transcribe anyway; clearly appreciated by many others too 🙏
