Oh! I suppose I took him being unable to get out of bed as not feeling well 🤷‍♂️

He told us in Nashville last year that the beds were awful in Memphis, so I figured he'd mention it if that was the problem. I don't think he's sick or anything. Just wore out

(y)

Btw, thanks again for all the reports from the front! Appreciated!

I hope you’re just trolling. Anyway, how can it be insulting if he’s singing ‘… you’re the one I really really love’ ?

And is it also a ‘commentary’ and ‘insulting’ when he’s performed that song in Britain and elsewhere?

No need to take it personally, I think he’s just having a chuckle.

I had to put on a green armband, and show my actual ticket 3 times to security. My friend was talking to someone off in the left aisle before the show and went to cross the front row (he was in balcony with his girlfriend, and it was faster to go that way). And security stopped him and asked what he was doing (though they did let him through). Another friend of mine was in the second row, and I couldn't have him next to me, either, which was really disappointing
I'm guessing because many of these small theaters don't have a pit area without seats is the reason why?

Maybe so, but unlike my Nashville show there was an immense amount of room between the stage and the front row seats. It would have been easy to allow a few guests to be up there with us, but - maybe there were worried about stage invaders? I'm not sure.

i am related on my mothers Scottish side to the family who took Poe in and brought him up after his mother died ( john allan )
was never officially adopted by them and it all ended in acrimony , but there you go !
you have good genes on yer mams side.

Then he must be having a chuckle everywhere he plays it.

I think it is a commentary on Americans and meant to be tongue in cheek (?) insulting.
It's insulting to any audience anywhere for an artist with such incredible material to open a concert with one of his most mediocre songs.

Thanks for the updates! Love seeing his walk-ons too. It may be only me, but just once I'd love to see him walk on to the epic quote from Kenneth Williams, playing Julius Caesar, in the film Carry On Cleo:
Infamy! Infamy! They've all got it in for me! Come on, Moz - you know you want to!! ;)
im a huge carry on fan and even though infamy is thought of as the number 1 quote i think theres better ones than that.

well …… ?

Mine was great! I stayed at BMore. The host, Hugh, has been exceptional, as well as the lady sharing a room with me. And it's only a 5 minute walk from Penn Station! Much better than my recent hostel near Central Park in New York when I went to see my favorite Smiths tribute band, the one my friend sings for. That one was awful.

Moz said he wanted to visit Poe's grave, but he wasn't feeling well enough to get out of bed. 🥺

thats cool. i lived in the station north neighborhood a couple blocks north of the venuenear that train station. its an arty place with mica and baltimore university right there but in baltimore you never know really what youre gonna get. glad you had a good experience and thanks for the reports from the front

“Don’t try to touch me, because that will never happen again.”
Wonder what that means!
He says, in between I Wish You Lonely, and Rebels, as below, that they're lines from a lyric, now identified by others as Past, Present and Future by The Shangri-las - https://genius.com/The-shangri-las-past-present-and-future-lyrics
I wish you lonely

Band introduced, leading into I Ex Love You. IELY is growing on me a lot, I was so into it tonight. I know it's not the best song he's ever written, but it has that fun vibe Kiss Me A Lot has.

I didn't know Carmen was from Madrid. Fantastic sound again from the whole ensemble. So here Morrissey is introducing the band members, compared to them coming up with their own little spiels recently. I like both or either, tbh. What do people think?
Last clip! The intro for I Will See You in Far off Places. He did switch the lyrics to "If the E.U. doesn't bomb you."

Carmen came to stand in front of me during Speedway, and I got so nervous. I shyly waved at her and she smiled so sweetly at me, she's so gorgeous omg. After the song, she tossed a guitar pick my direction. I almost couldn't reach it, but a few people helped me out! I was so grateful.

And then as I was walking back to the hostel I took a picture of Moz' line of buses. There was a few people out there, but the buses looked like they were getting ready to leave already. Plus, it was 40°F/4.5°C, so it was a little too chilly to really hang outside for very long.

Hopefully I can make Indianapolis!

Oh, right! I did want to mention, Moz was definitely a little tired today. It's funny how he does the exact same thing he did in the Smiths when he wasn't feeling well - with all the silly tongue waggling and odd noises when he didn't want to finish a lyric. There were a few lines here and there where he sort of just drifted off (he does not want to sing Sunday lmao), there was way less banter with the crowd (the reason there's so many Intro videos was me trying to catch him talking, to save me from having to write it all down, but he only spoke like 3 or 4 times lmao). Occasionally wasn't enunciating very well (which is unusual for him), but he did mention not being able to get out of bed that morning, so.

I can't say for sure, but it almost looked like during Pigsty he was a bit teary? It might have been just the lights? I'm not sure. His eyes looked very clear and bright the rest of the night.

The concert was still great though, and it's really breathtaking how in certain moments he'll tilt his head a certain way and there's no way to tell that it's not 1993. Moz is very camera shy, obviously, and pulls a lot of sour, grouchy faces, but in the moment, when you're watching him up close, he's the same as ever. A little less wild, shirtless arm flailing, but still playful, still having fun. I loved during the band self intros that he walked Camila out, arm in arm (as she walked away he made a little motion like he was gonna push her over 🥲), and then teasingly pushed Carmen towards the mic to do her intro, very gently. All the stage invaders were gentle, too! No crazy pulling or shoving.

And I think it's a good sign that even though he was so tired he still did the show. It'd have been easy for him to cancel, but he pushed through and that meant a lot to so many people. My friend was upset the whole year about the Quarry shows being canceled, and almost didn't go to this show because of it, so little moments like that, where Moz redeems himself to a fan or two, I think will go a long way if he keeps it up.

The Pulitzer Prize for you, Spooked!

When I think of Edgar Allan Poe in Baltimore, I think of him getting shanghaied there.

Thanks for all the reviews and videos!

@ZOOM FROM GLOOM Wow, I'm listening to the Tiny Tim cover of In The Pines on the way home, and I absolutely love it. Instant favorite. Heartbeat by Jobriath is interesting, too. Very Bowie. It's not a favorite yet, but I really like it.

New here. I wondered if anyone who attended the show knows what question Morrissey asked the audience. I really couldn't hear it. Thanks. I didn't know ehere to ask this.

Was it something like “Has anyone here ever taken the lead in a love affair?”?
