wonder if he visited poes grave at all. kinda dank there and its amazingly cold today but its worth a trip if they still do it as its at the bottom of an old house and not in a cemetery. should really visit divines grave but thats out in towson i think. also condolences to anyone who stayed in a baltimore hostel as i can only imagine what that was like
I love this story...

i sorta remember that. when i moved there for college and we did the tour through the house and all that to the celler? basememt? to see the grave they mentioned it. was in the early 2000s somewhere. i used to live in baltimore city for about seven years off calvert a few blocks from the lyric as well as a few years in the burbs etc. i have a beautiful photo of myself and my wife with a train coming out of the tunnel at the park next to the venue. its funny as they hold a music box thing for kids at the lyric and i have spent many a morning there singing the goodmorning song to violins and cellos which is what immediately comes to mind when i think of it. used to know the head of the orch but that was a while ago. had a lot of fun in baltimore and a third of my family is from/still there but i dont miss it at all. sill a great music venue and i love the Fitzgerald connection as well with the mental hospital (blanking on the name) and the plaque on charles (i think he wrote the don there). cool to read this side of paradise with him describing the downtown and trying to see it as it was then

Yes, a 30 year gap in usage.
FWD.

Probably like me, you had a cassette copy of the ‘91 intro tape that circulated amongst fans. Pre internet, I didn’t know all the artists on it, not that it mattered, I played that thing to death! Lol. Though I’m wondering what the source was? I vaguely recall someone saying a fan got it through Boz that got it off the sound man at the time who would play it off of a DAT every night.

How can he, or the band not be bored to tears playing the exact same mediocre setlist night after night? And to open with Fatty is just lazy and insulting.

Wha!? It’s a great opener!

Though, I do agree that Morrissey is kind enough to continue playing some of the classics. Think most artists feel it’s their duty to? don’t know.

did they have the cosmic dancer 7 inch for sale
The merch booth was absolutely swamped both before and after the show. I couldn't get in very close unless I wanted to wait in line for ages 😕 I went to sit down by the front door for a bit after the show (there were some benches there) then tried to walk back in to take more pictures, but a security lady said I couldn't go back into the lobby.

I'd imagine it would still be available? It's a high cost item that I didn't see anyone walking around with at the Knoxville show. I don't think those white Beethoven shirts were up on the display, the white Shoplifters tee wasn't there, the grey Bona Drag shirt. There might have been more.

I think it is a commentary on Americans and meant to be tongue in cheek (?) insulting.

I hope you’re just trolling. Anyway, how can it be insulting if he’s singing ‘… you’re the one I really really love’ ?

And is it also a ‘commentary’ and ‘insulting’ when he’s performed that song in Britain and elsewhere?

Mine was great! I stayed at BMore. The host, Hugh, has been exceptional, as well as the lady sharing a room with me. And it's only a 5 minute walk from Penn Station! Much better than my recent hostel near Central Park in New York when I went to see my favorite Smiths tribute band, the one my friend sings for. That one was awful.

Moz said he wanted to visit Poe's grave, but he wasn't feeling well enough to get out of bed. 🥺

As much as I like that set list I could weep when I think of the great songs that could replace All The Lazy Dykes.
The worst song on YATQ.
That's Moz for you.

Unless he said it elsewhere, since I wasn’t at the show, and before the rumors of canceling start. He didn’t say he ‘wasn’t feeling well’ actually he could just be sleep deprived from trying to sleep in unfamiliar hotel rooms, beds. I recall him having sleep problems, commenting on stage about it, last time he was in NYC.

They're being really strict about front row unfortunately so my friends can't join me up here. Bit of a bummer

Annie I’m Not Your Daddy by Kid Creole and the Coconuts, guess preroll must be at 8:30

Previous to it (and after Jobriath) was a song in another language. Maybe Spanish? Couldn't make out any lyrics unfortunately

What a Wonderful World Louie Armstrong

Black Girl? is the title according to Google. In the Pines is what I've called it. I don't know if this is the Lead Belly one or not. Edit: Little Girl by Tiny Tim according to Zoom from Gloom
What do you mean by "they're being really strict about front row"?

Oh! I suppose I took him being unable to get out of bed as not feeling well 🤷‍♂️

He told us in Nashville last year that the beds were awful in Memphis, so I figured he'd mention it if that was the problem. I don't think he's sick or anything. Just wore out

I had to put on a green armband, and show my actual ticket 3 times to security. My friend was talking to someone off in the left aisle before the show and went to cross the front row (he was in balcony with his girlfriend, and it was faster to go that way). And security stopped him and asked what he was doing (though they did let him through). Another friend of mine was in the second row, and I couldn't have him next to me, either, which was really disappointing
