Oasis reunion + Morrissey

People were saying these tickets would sell out in 5 seconds, or 5 minutes max.

The reality? People are still in a virtual queue nearly 5 hours later, with a series of technical problems and no end in sight.

14 million people are trying to buy 1.4 million tickets.

People have reported waiting 3 hours for their turn to book tickets, only for the site to crash when they tried to select and pay.

To add insult to injury, those lucky enough to have bought tickets already, have reported being trapped by 'dynamic pricing' on Ticketmaster, which means that a £150 standing ticket is suddenly £356 for the same face value ticket.

Dynamic pricing sounds like an absolute con to me - if Ticketmaster knows there is unprecedented demand and the tickets will sell out many times over, why would there be a need for their systems to inflate the prices? Is it purely just to filter out the people who won't pay that inflated amount, so that the tickets just get sold faster and their systems get a rest?

The reservation countdown timer also creates an illusion of panic. 'Your ticket is held for 45 seconds at £356, do you really want to go to the gig or not?'

Yes one of ny daughters is trying to get some, there were 150k in the queue at 11am it's now down to 47K. Ticketmaster are absolute scum for upping the prices like they have, the government really need to clamp down on this.

Completely agree.

Hope she gets some!

Crazy that there could actually still be tickets available tomorrow at this rate.

I am always pre-lubed, just in case.

It was just another one of my attempts at 'dry' wit.

Why do I get the feeling that Noel and Liam are finding this situation very entertaining, and that it's just serving to increase their sense of self-importance.

Well it's all justified isn't it? Everything's going into meltdown over this.
But will they fulfill expectations when the time comes? The atmos at the gigs is going to be phenomenal. Let's hope it doesn't end in an ugly brawl after the first song.
They will have to provide special help-lines for the ticketless watching on their screens at home, through a waterfall of tears. As I did in '07, they fell like rain.

Why are people blaming Ticketmaster for "Dynamic Pricing"?

It's clearly been approved by Oasis and the promoters.

If the Smiths ever reform, I really hope Ticketmaster isn't used. Hopefully Marr and Morrissey do a Glastonbury style sort of system, where you need ID.

The phone helpline will just be a recording of Stop Crying Your Heart Out....

I think oasis know their place as making "simple" music that has mass appeal.

Not sure, the way they've gone on about it in interviews over the years. I like their music by the way, and I don't much mind them as people. But, they do seem to think they are bond villains or something.
