In a way it says more about Marr than it does about Morrissey - ie that Marr is pro-mass immigration despite all the damage it does to working class communities and social cohesion because he’s can sit in his ivory tower and avoid the consequences. He’s a typical anti-Brexit, pro-mass migration, everyone-else-is-racist luvvie.
Absolutely.

Johnny Marr is the biggest hypocrite there is.

"Hey i'm a man of the people, socialist" ..... screwed his best mate/band mates

Won't speak to Morrissey because he can get cheap agrees on X by slating him for his political views.

Well how many of you know that a certain 'other' best mate of Marr's, Billy Duffy is with Leilani Dowding. Yes....

Leilani filmed Billy playing with Johhny Marr .... see X thread here:

Someone in that thread asked her what Billy thought about her views and her response (which has since been deleted) said that it would be mental in their house if Billy didn't have the same views.

Marr is a Fraud, who still uses Morrissey, to be the man .... and he also dresses like a grandma doing the gardening.

Well, thanks for posting that. It clearly shows that Johnny is OK with people with different political views. It must be the other aspect that Nigel Farage and Morrissey have in common, Narcissistic Personality Disorder is what Johnny really objects to.

Sounds like what he objects to (and what he is truly bitter and twisted about) is
Morrissey’s ongoing refusal to do a cheesy (but very lucrative) reunion. 💸

Sky news 2016

“I can only really speak for myself, I don’t feel like it’s necessary at all really,” said Marr at the time when asked by Sky News about the chances of The Smiths reuniting. “I really like moving forward. Myself and Andy (Rourke, bass player) play together when I’m over in New York…he plays a couple of songs with me and that’s always really nice, but that’s really as far as it needs to go I think.”

I’ve been to 25 Morrissey concerts. Next month in Austin,Texas, I’ll see Johnny Marr for the very first time. I will always love Morrissey/Marr both. Long live The Smiths.

I think a smiths reunion would be a bad idea, Morrissey's voice has changed a lot, and one of the band members has died, the other band members don't seem to get on. The money is probably tempting for them but I'd rather Morrissey focused on getting his new music out and Marr on whatever he's up to, haven't listened to much of his solo stuff. The Nigel farage picture in response seems a bit lame though.

Yes, it would be pretty weird watching/listening to Old Morrissey & Marr performing a set that consisted only of Smiths songs, especially sans Joyce and Rourke. And what would be the alternative? Marr would never agree to including solo Morrissey stuff in the setlist, as if Morrissey solo/Smiths were one and the same thing, and even if he did, the punters would likely feel short-changed (some, at least). Morrissey would run a million miles before agreeing to let Marr sing any of Marr's solo stuff. And as to new songs, Marr would be too fearful of being socially embarrassed by Morrissey's non-PC lyrics.

You don't need to be pro-mass immigration or upper-middle class to think that Farage is a tosser.

The big difference is that Morrissey doesn't insist on playing lead guitar for the songs, he fortunately has enough self awareness to know he would look like a fool if he tried. Unfortunately Johnny doesn't have that same level of self awareness regarding his tragic attempts to "sing."

One can split hairs all day about provenance but the fact is in the publishing: the Smiths songs are 50% Morrissey's and 50% Johnny Marr's. Ergo, each has as much claim to playing them live, regardless of actual subjective ability or not in their role. Unless it was Morrissey himself singing the songs, I wager that many people who gripe bitterly about Johnny's vocal abilities would pitch absolute fits if he utilized a different singer to play them live with his band.

I have seen JM and his band three times to date and never once heard a passerby lament how he sang a Smiths song. On the flip side, I heard many people express their joy that he had played them - and even some that exulted in how favorably the renditions compared to Morrissey's and his band's.

Perhaps because they were Marr fans that went to his show expecting and wanting him to play Smiths songs.

Well, fans have, let’s say, a psychological imprint of how the songs ‘should sound’ and even if another guitarist played them better they still wouldn’t be as ‘good’ as the records they know too well and the way Johnny the cowriter of those songs still plays them. I suppose this goes for Morrissey’s voice, that can’t be replaced by anyone, even if the singer covering the songs was technically better.
