I am shocked. SHOCKED that he played this show.

Low ticket sales were the first red flag.

Stage invasion with injured security guard (did we ever figure out if he is okay?).

Morrissey being Morrissey....

He regained a bit of trust from me.
You may have shows mixed up, the Dallas show was injuries that show was sold out, Little Rock had low sales.

Well, I think those photos of Moz are not good, his face seems aged with respect to the physique. According to those photos. Another thing that I don't like and for a long time is her shoes are old, she needs to modernize her feet. Another thing is her hair needs to be shaded, because it is very white. I would tone his gray hair with some appropriate tone. In general it must be modernized.. Speaking of Johnny, they have very little age difference but Johnny is more modern. I think Moz needs a refresh
Your comments not only give me heartburn but they also irritate my bowels.

wow - that is such an ageist comment if I have ever read one.

Morrissey and Marr's dress style have always been very different to each other's from what I have observed, so why should it be any different now?

"It really does take guts to be gentle and kind"

I don’t think Morrissey brought it on himself. I think mankind did. People flock by the tens of thousands to hear garbage, consume garbage. That is what’s sad.
Well said. Though a little Garbage is okay ;)

Smart shoes, along with the jacket - which is still crying out for a discreet stand to drape it over when removed. But smart look, overall 🤩
I think Moz needs a refresh

Shere HIte, whose name adorns the drums, was a stylish, bright and striking-looking woman, bearing some resemblance to Madonna, and to Veronica Lake, subject of I Am Veronica.

In 2023, a new documentary came out about her, called The Disappearance of Shere Hite

Starring: Dakota Johnson
Director: Nicole Newnham
Synopsis: The Hite Report, a groundbreaking study of the intimate experiences of women, remains one of the bestselling books of all time since its publication in 1976. Drawn from anonymous survey responses, the book challenged restrictive conceptions of sex and opened a dialogue in popular culture around women's pleasure. Its charismatic author, Shere Hite, a feminist sex researcher and former model, became the public messenger of women's secret confessions.

With each subsequent bestseller, she engaged television titans in unforgettably explicit debates about sexuality while suffering the backlash her controversial findings provoked. But few remember Shere Hite today. What led to her erasure? Digging into exclusive archives, as well as Hite's personal journals and the original survey responses, filmmaker Nicole Newnham (Crip Camp, Audience Award: U.S. Documentary, 2020 Sundance Film Festival) transports viewers back to a time of great societal transformation around sexuality. Her revelatory portrait is a rediscovery of a pioneer who has had an unmistakable influence on current conversations about gender, sexuality, and bodily autonomy, as well as a timely, cautionary tale of what too often happens to women who dare speak out.

In a Roger Ebert review, a look is also taken at her life, since, as per Morrissey's post on Central at the time, she died in 2020. For a while her neighbour was Gene Simmons who used to come to her parties!

Exact same as zombies walking right by lovely restaurants to eat at the McDs and BurgerKong next door instead. Music is the same. Moz is a fine meal, not cardboard food with a free crappy plastic toy.

Ludicrous take. Johnny Marr's hair looks as fake as Gary Numan's and that's saying something. Moz is in his 60s and he looks it. And that's just fine and as it should be.
And why do you keep saying she and her. Is that supposed to be funny?

In 1986, when The Smiths were at their peak they played places like National Ballroom in Kilburn which holds 2300.

Wolverhampton.. is 3200.

When they played Albert Hall in 1985... That was 5200.

Manchester Arena.. Morrissey played there to 21000.

The multi times he played Madison Square Garden or the Hollywood Bowl is up there.

The Smiths played the Hollywood Palladium to 4000 people.

Let's not act like Moz was doing 50,000 seat arena tours with the Smiths or early days of his career.

His biggest crowds were solo gigs and his best gigs were the small ones... At least out of the roughly 70 I've been to.
50,000 seat tours would be a stadium tour, not an arena tour.

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure he broke out Slip In at the Limelight. I actually have the whole gig on VHS somewhere but no video player to play it on :lbf: :lbf:

Trust me. Yeah I have a copy too, I really need to upload it someday.

If you must know, there’s a bald spot brewing. It’s just a waiting game now. Soon we won’t just have priest Moz; we’ll have friar Johnny too!

So glad the show went ahead, because I do believe in "the show must go on". It's sad to see many empty seats but he didn't cancel, which proves he's in good health and isn't deterred by complications like a stage invasion. Apparently Little Rock is a strangely isolated location for him to play at, so this is an explanation in part. It just makes me hopeful for a UK tour. Anymore info leaked regarding a UK tour announcement? How did those rumours start?

Reasons to be cheerful.....

1. He went ahead and didn't cancel despite low ticket sales
2. £50k donation to Salford Lads club and relatively positive press
3. Performance seems great
4. Whatever the reasons behind his proposed M and M reunion it suggests a willingness to change his mind that wasn't previously there
5. Ditto the Madonna references
6. Seems to have lost weight and be looking a bit healthier
I noticed all this too! Very positive.

I can't lie, these small half filled venues make me kinda sad. His legacy deserves something better. BUT he brought it on himself.
It was a very energetic crowd and the front rows , well made up for the upstairs empty seats. So far, I have seen 3 great gigs , and the fact Morrissey is playing over an hour and half is a very pleasant surprise

Contrary to the general impression/angst of some earlier posts, show was very well attended (and I was shocked knowing the slow sales - and it is Arkansas, after all...). But I looked during the encore -- most seats were accounted for, even in the balconies.

my point exactly.

Is tonight the night when Morrissey comes out as a Trump supporter?
