either way, no one wins.

It seems to me that Morrissey takes too many risks. I don't know if that scenario is very high with respect to the people who are below, but a crazy guy like this can pull Moz down, make him fall, the balance at that age decreases, besides that type of crazy guy can end up doing anything. Don't let there be an invasion of the stage anymore
Moz has had stage invasions since the Smiths. It's not as though he doesn't know to expect it at this point, and has even encouraged it many times. Of course, there's always one jerk who's a little overzealous, but you shouldn't act as though it's "poor, unfortunate Moz vs. the evil stage huggers". All the people getting upset about something that's happened at just about every concert he's ever performed somehow seem to forget this fact.

There's a difference between people coming up on stage when he was younger, and now.

When he was younger, he was fitter.

He is no longer as fit as that, so the intensity of anyone coming up on stage should quite rightly be managed.

I think it's deluded to believe he could have handled 10 or more people rushing the stage, let alone 50 or more (which is what could have happened if it had been allowed to escalate)

Nah. She's getting booed every time she does an event. She's about to be unburdened...by what will never be.
lol! What absolute rubbish. I’m not by any means her number 1 fan, but where has this happened besides by an anti-Israeli protestor? “Every time she does an event?” Really? Prove it.

Sixty five , clumsy and shy

I'd love to get this to the lady standing. She stood strong amongst many complaints. After multiple ushers asking her to sit, they finally let her stand and dance in the aisle.

Kind of the opposite of this happened to me at the Vegas concert second row loge, with a row of people in front of me standing blocking my view, so I went in the aisle but then got told by security to go back to my seat. So my view was obstructed by the standers and arm up people in front of me (should have done GA and I stand the whole concert but it's hard for me at my age to stand the 5+ hours involved in GA, including queuing, preshow, etc.) Maybe in GA one's view is less obstructed than what I experienced. Having one's view blocked can make or break a concert experience and also be frustrating (heartbreaking, infuritating). I guess it depends too on the venue layout/ how steep the slant is, can you see if the people in front of you are standing, height of those in front of you, and on the ushers/security and how reasonable they are or how much leeway they have to let people be in the aisle.

Dear God.

I hope I hadn’t noticed the awfulness of that stage invasion when I wrote “Wow, living dangerously. Awesome.” I can’t believe I would write that otherwise. Sorry everyone, that I wrote that.

On November 22nd 1997, I, along with other fans in attendance at Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, MA had our otherwise excellent show ruined by denying us a great encore. At this time in his career Morrissey was not performing songs from the Smiths catalogue in his concerts. So when he came on for the encore to the thundering opening notes of "Shoplifters..." the crowd went bonkers. Alas some went too bonkers. Perhaps 30 seconds into the song some complete and totally worthless a-hole choose to invade the stage and violently full body tackle Morrissey to the ground. Music stopped, Morrissey whisked off stage. I've never been so angry at a show. Some friends and I, along with a few others waited outside the front of the venue to give our own "full body tackle" to the aforementioned a-hole but he must have left before us. I'm sure he has died by some auto-erotic misadventure by now. It was selfishly inane behavior in 1997 and it is even more so in 2024.

Another close up of how dodgy it got for Moz...

If you pause it at exactly 45 seconds, you will see that it actually looks like the long haired guy is trying to hit Morrissey (I don't think he was merely trying to get security off him, as it looks like security actually had to prevent the blow)

Well never know, but with that force, let's just say it would have been more than a hug.

Morrissey actually flinches, as most normal people would. It makes me wonder if that's exactly what that guy was trying to do. Capitalising on the developing chaos and the security being stretched.

Who knows.
