I think if he wants to get back on track and rehabilitate his image, he should refrain from talking about anything political. I also think he'd look a bit insincere condemning the shooting when he once said he would kill Trump if he could.

Morrissey's entire career has been about the outsider which goes some way to him expressing sympathy for some of those people.

Trump, with his inherited wealth, is a long way from the kind of outsiders that Morrissey normally feels a kinship with.

You don't classify Trump as an outsider? He's as outsider as you get. Who gives a shit whether he's rich or not? Trump has more in common with Morrissey than he care's to realise. Targeted law fare, persecution, lies and now attempted assassination and it won't end there.

I wouldn't class anyone who is favorite to be the next president as an outsider. And his wealth is entirely relevant as that is what enabled him to be in the position he is in.

If Morrissey ever does start to express any affinity for Trump, though, I have no doubt it will be due to him feeling that way to some degree.

He used to be a democrat but entered the race as a republican which then triggered the old skool republicans who hate him because he tore shit up. That's the outsider vibe I'm referring to.

Andrew Tate has expressed this very well I think. First, they try to discredit you and call you words ending in -ist. Then they try to put you in jail. Then they try to kill you. They have tried all 3 with Trump.
So far they have just tried the first one with Morrissey. It has been fairly damaging for him though. Maybe they don't need to try 2 and 3 in Moz's case?
