It's a crime if this is the first award he's won for dedication to animal rights. Still, awards don't mean everything (but they do give a warm and fuzzy feeling when received)

Not seeing which organisation or event this was from...
Anyone?
FWD.
Animals Anonymous?!

(I think Luxo tracked it down :thumb:)
Top result on Google?

A song to celebrate (Mozzer 1980 posted it on the song thread)

He has a piano?

It does say Social Vanguard Award on the award itself, but I just looked at the website and it’s all about human rights and environmental issues. I didn’t see anything about animal rights, so it’s confusing. It could be under environmental, I guess.

At any rate, he should be proud and show it off because he works hard, tirelessly, for animal rights.

Bravo to Morrissey.

19 vegan musicians who hit the high notes thanks to their vegan lifestyles,

Includes Morrissey:

Morrissey, the former frontman of The Smiths and a celebrated solo artist, is not only known for his haunting voice and poignant lyrics but also for his unwavering commitment to animal rights and veganism.

Morrissey’s journey towards veganism began in his early teenage years when he transitioned to vegetarianism at “11 or 12 years old.” The singer confirmed that he’d gone fully vegan in 2015, driven by a profound empathy for animals and a desire to live in alignment with his ethical beliefs.

His staunch stance against animal cruelty is not just a personal choice but a recurring theme in his music and public statements.
Morrissey is not afraid of speaking his mind when it comes to veganism, even declaring that “vegans are superior beings”. The outspoken singer even said he’d ‘walk away’ from anyone who eats meat, claiming: “If I’m introduced to anyone who eats beings, I walk away.

“Imagine, for example, if you were in a nightclub and someone said to you, ‘Hello, I enjoy bloodshed, throat-slitting and the destruction of life.’ Well, I doubt if you’d want to exchange phone numbers.”

Throughout his career, Morrissey has used his platform to advocate for animal rights. He is famously known for his strict policies at his concerts, where he demands that venues go meat-free during his performances.

Morrissey has collaborated with several animal rights organisations, including PETA and The Humane Society. His song Meat Is Murder, released during his time with The Smiths, remains a powerful anthem in the animal rights movement, calling attention to the brutal realities of the meat industry.

AWKWARD!

Animal rights? lolz.
Animals have a right to not suffer from climate chaos caused in part by greedy popsters' heating the planet up.
Not eating them but killing them softly with their songs ( and their giant concerts) .
Hypocritical f@ckwits, the whole lot of them.
Btw: thanks again for flooding Brazil, Madonna!

Oh and, about animals and politics...There's an old ( very old) lady Morrissey likes, famed for defending seals etc, who's a supporter of the far-right: and she must feel very silly right now, as their candidate has consistently voted against laws in favour of animals as a Eurodeputy.
Morrissey could see no problem with her supporting the far-right then.

SHE's not so sure anymore ( about time, she's alost 90)
HE, however, still seems to have no problem with it.

....Did someone say
...AWKWARD!?
