I hope the "bawdy boy" Patti Smith didn't break wind loudly like she did when he met her years ago.

They’re all at that age where it isn’t just permissible, it’s expected.

“You hearda that Mozzie Ray Vaughn? He just comes out night after night and shits his britches. Like some sorta britches holocaust.”

Can Morrissey just f*** off now?

Actually this sounds like me !!
(and I am not about to change)

I think Moz has just collected a lot of memorabilia along the way & I am so happy he is sharing it. Fits nicely with "Rebels Without Applause" too.
If I had something signed by Morrissey I would want to share it .........so why should he not share it too with his fans? I thought it was super cool and I did not read any cryptic message in it.

Yeah, this on its own isn't so concerning.

However, combined with the other behaviour, I find it much more concerning.

He walked away from a deal with a label that was literally perfect for him. But cool we get pix of his record collection. You came up with the words “The Smiths”, but without J.Marr, that trademark has no value. You live 10 minutes from Johnny and have his current email. Use it, get drunk, sort your shit, and end your career with 9 nights at Wembley and setting up your family for generations.

You know he's the end of the family line, right? He has no care for any of that. The last thing he's going to do is any of what you've said. Apart from the getting drunk bit.

So, drink, drink, drink
And be ill tonight
From the one you left behind
From the one you left behind
From the one you left behind
From the one you left behind
Behind

Like Prince not leaving a will as he had no family either and the ones he has left (siblings) were not exactly high on his priorities list. But I do wish he left a will regarding The Vault and his music legacy. But that is a different topic and not meant for this forum of course.

In all seriousness, I know what you mean.

But this does also scream autism - the collecting element combined with the almost cultish fandom and fan clubs, the obsessing over chart positions and the mountain of endless obscure trivia etc etc.
funny you say that, last night i watched the earsay interview from 1984,he talked about running the dolls fan club because he was so obsessed with them then one day he woke and felt nothing when he played their album and thats why he stopped, people go on about being obsessed but its only an obsession when it affects your day to day life.

the amount of times iv heard about the vault and the 500 songs that are as good as anything he has done over the last thirty years, this was from a mate of a long time who was a prince fan,has any of these songs been released or can nobody find the big key to the big vault.

One obsession dropped, another begins. There is usually an overlap of sorts. New obsession for him might be French cinema, or Klaus Nomi, or perfecting The Smiths, or his singing voice, or insisting the band stayed in the same hotel as James Dean once did, when the Smiths first played in New York.

It's always intense, and it never ends.
