I attended the show and the band sounded great, Morrissey sounded great and was very chatty and clearly enjoying himself. Band sounded spot on to me. The crowd was energized and the energy was electric. Sure he's playing newer songs that may not have the awareness or fanfare from years past, but that's his prerogative and it's material he wrote and wants to play. He could sing any songs from his catalogue and people would could complain he didn't play this or that. Sure some setlists are better than others, but oh well, the man is still playing at 65 and sounds the best he's ever sounded. I'm grateful he's still playing and in my opinion at "top form." The whole vibe of a Morrissey concert is so different from any other artist, it's hard to explain. And for this who love him, or those who loathe him, "truly we're going to miss him when he's gone" Those going to the New Years gig, enjoy and have a blast, I know Morrissey will be having fun, he loves to perform, let's keep catching him live while we can :)

What other artists have you been to see, I've seen loads of bands this year, some have been less vibrant than Morrissey gigs but lots have been on a par or better.

Honest question, who are you all going to see who are playing dynamic setlists each night over the course of a tour? In the last 2 years, I’ve seen contemporaries of Morrissey (Squeeze two summers in a row, Psych Furs, Duran Duran, Boy George, Echo & The Bunnymen, Depeche Mode 4x over 2 years) and guess what…same setlist, entire tours across multiple years. Same with U2 for the last several tours. And as a fan of Elbow, I saw them play the exact same setlist for the last entire tour. No change in order, no different songs from any of them. Noel Gallagher is playing largely the same setlist night after night (he changes it up slightly less than Morrissey does, slight song order, random new song). I guess I wonder how or why Morrissey is held to a standard none of these other bands are? Or who IS playing a dynamic setlist from one night to the next that I’m just not seeing?

In no way is any sarcasm intended as people on here are from different generations, countries and cultures. Just wondering if you are joking though and I'm not getting the humour? If not, then this Christmas I've had a few laughs at old YouTube footage of her appearances, but because you are asking I'm doubting myself! Surely it looks like Violet Carson who played Ena Sharples in Coronation Street, a UK soap set near Manchester, has been going since about 1960. She was in it throughout the 60s. Can't remember when she left. I really liked her pal, Minnie Cauldwell. Yes, I am old enough to remember! She also sang as well. Honestly, no sarcasm intended, but sometimes I don't understand the humour on here! Yesterday I was watching an episode where Albert Tatlock smuggled a bottle of rum into the Rovers and he and Ena got drunk. That was the level of the drama, unlike now, and I preferred those old days. Some culture I can share with Morrissey!

Super stale setlists at this point, for anyone who has seen him in the last 4 years.
Just look at the lack of posts in here when it could be so different, we still want him to win and turn things around…

Spring Heeled Jim has gone already :LOL:

Krays T-shirt but no Playboys… c’mon Moz!!

Can’t believe the Marr / Smiths fallout hasn’t been reflected in what he’s chosen or not chosen to sing live since… apart from HSIN which was long overdue a break anyway.
I wasn’t expecting Angel Angel or Break up the Family but it’s literally business as usual lol
Give us something to show he isn’t just phoning it in
Made me think of Angel, Angel from the '91 tour and how it utterly destroys this bloated mess that we now see and hear these days! It is really hard to believe how far someone can sink and still keep trodding and plodding ahead.

No i was serious, I never wanted to watch that, a soap opera, and i would of had to go out of my way to watch, being in America. Very Interesting, don't get me wrong ,I've heard of Coronation Street, through Smiths fandom, throughout the years, don't know about it bc didn't watch
I lose
But i needed to know her name and occupation and you answered so nicely, and i appreciate it for sure, thank you.....Coronation street? I'm from America, give me a break lol.....Violet Carson, actor from 60s known for her work on Coronation Street(a Manchester soap)

That is Violet Carson who played Ena Sharples in Coronation Street. I think this poster was just asking a simple question.

I agree with this. Sometimes I try and get cheap tickets off Twickets last minute for established acts and always check Setlist.fm prior to what songs the bands/ artists in question are going to play. Just in case they're promoting a new album and playing in it's entirety. I'm not going to pay £50 plus for that as I won't enjoy it. If I don't get a ticket well that's just tough.

There is little to no change in songs on a world tour in the setlists for most artists. In fairness they rehearse a set number, know what the audience want and may shake things up a little bit to keep themselves interested and prevent them going through the motions.
