Morrissey & Marr - let's face it, for all the sniping whichever one of them happens to croak first, the other one will be first in line with glowing tributes, and praising the other one to the sky. Bands splitting up is often compared to the end of a marriage. Can't go back without confronting or suffering all the issues all over again. Johnny must prefer how things are now. I know I don't.

The big difference is that Morrissey doesn't insist on playing lead guitar for the songs, he fortunately has enough self awareness to know he would look like a fool if he tried. Unfortunately Johnny doesn't have that same level of self awareness regarding his tragic attempts to "sing."

I have criticized Johnny's singing plenty of times, but his band is brilliant and the way they play the songs kind of makes up for it. Morrissey's band is the real tragedy here.
