I was at the show and had a blast, as did everyone in the front row. I can’t speak for the casual fans, or those who don’t like his newer material, but I liked the setlist. An even mix of Smiths, old hits, newer songs, and unreleased songs from Bonfire. I wish he would have sang Ouija Board Ouija Board, but I have no complaints otherwise :)

He did mention he’d been sick, but I thought he sounded great. Seemed to be in good spirits too.

He’s selling a shirt with the original Beethoven cover just three months after reissuing it with an awful, nonsensical new cover? wtf? He keeps showing us how little of a shit he gives in new and interesting ways.

I Ex-Love You was meant to have been released earlier this week. Until M decided to wreck what’s left of his career in his own way.

Edit: just watched a few songs. His voice is not good. The top of his range is gone and you can see him struggle every time he goes there. Alcohol is awful for singers.
Wreck what's left of his career? He's just started a successful tour with multiple sell out dates.

Hmmm - hopefully this is one of those tracks that sounds better on the studio version, as to be honest - this really isn't very good. Musically a re-heated 'Please Help The Cause Against Loneliness', only with less interesting lyrics. Morrissey sounds fairly tuneless and bored as well, especially in those wordless 'hmmm hmmm' bits.

I have found some of the 'Bonfire' tracks encouraging live, but this isn't one of them, and seems closer to B-side drek like 'Kerouac's Crack.' If the record deal had gone through and this had been released as a single, unfortuantely I can't see if getting any radio airplay or setting the charts alight. :(

Do we think that the setlist will switch up on Saturday? As much as I liked this one, I think it can do him some good to scramble it a little

I listened to several of the songs posted on here (with headphones) and he, along with the band, sounds great. Not many 65 year olds can sing as good as him. I don't understand the complaints about the band. I also like the new song.

I would say you hit the blasphemous bad theology nail right on the head
Awful. His self-indulgence and megalomania have no boundaries.

It's also interesting that the religious references are becoming more frequent and prominent.
A lot of the alt-right commentators Morrissey has aligned himself with in recent years have leaned heavily into the Christianity angle, so there may be some mileage in that. However, I think the backdrop is just standard 'Morrissey comparing himself to Christ' stuff he's been doing for years.
