I'm falling in love again

Pigsty is an absolutely highlight of the current setlist

Poets stay within the language confinements.

Language is constantly in flux. Your usage of English isn’t the same as someone from the 17th century. Innovation and creativity happens. In art there are no “language confinements.” If this was the 1950s you’d be the idiot complaining that “You ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog and you ain’t no friend of mine” contains a double negative; if it was the 1960s you’d be asking, “what the hell does Love Me Do mean?”

While we can watch the video from a 'bird's eye view' in retrospect, Morrissey and the venue security and his personal security did not have such luxury.

The security made the correct choice and whisked him away before it really got out of hand, at the time nobody knew exactly how it would play out. This was the smart and only thing that should have been done, thankfully.

I'll add my agreement with previous posters that Moz isn't young anymore, and while we can remember 'Live In Dallas' and Wolverhampton '88 with fondness, we should respect the reality of aging.

Additionally, it was good to see the much smaller in physical stature help the much larger in physical stature security person. He immediately went to help this man and the man immediately accepted his help.

Such interactions give me a sense there is still hope for us all.

Be safe and well, all.....

I don't know how to share from Morrissey Central. The TMZ article is on there now, "way too popular".
Regards,
FWD.

Someone compared it to this. I don't know if you've watched this before, but there's some King Leer :)

"I don't know if you've watched this before," she says... 😏

I have watched that show so many times now. :blushing:
I have the DVD too. He looks extra ✨glimmery✨ during King Leer in this video.

That could have been so much worse if it had developed further. The right decision was taken, and I hope everyone is okay after the dust has settled.

Morrissey's expression was initially joyous, even when it got more frantic. In the footage he was smiling and then had a cheeky surprised look on his face, like 'ooh, it's getting a bit tasty now'

After all, he has previously mentioned physical proximity in the lead up to the Vegas gigs, so I do think he still relishes this kind of thing (well, the idea of it anyway) I mean, I think security have been under instruction to go easy unless it starts to get really silly, and they were even helping people up initially.

But I don't think he could have stuck it out there much longer if they were all going to keep going at it like that. He would never admit to it, but he did need rescuing at that point, as it would have inevitably escalated - resulting in a lot more injuries.

The problem is when people are drunk, they will forget his age and any potential health issues he might have. Their only determination is to claim their piece of Mozza.

It was quite shocking to see him being manhandled like that, given that he's said he is - or has been - ill in some way. Hopefully all is well, and security can be ramped up for future gigs.

We must agree to disagree. I don't see "I Ex" replacing "I no longer" or "I used to" anytime soon. To each their own, I guess. Personally, it kind of bugs me.

I recently witnessed Modern English play I Melt With You for five shows when we were touring with them and they obviously are more than aware that that is THE song most everyone knows by them and while one may think they’d be bored to tears playing it at EVERY show, they in fact embrace it and put in 10x the effort. It’s a great tune that they know both casual and hard core fans enjoy in part because they don’t half-ass it and go through the motions. They take care to get it right and make sure the energy is always there and I respect them even more for this.
Yes, love that song and why even do a show if you are not going to play THE song. When I went to see Placebo, despite it being a really great show, I did not know they took Pure Morning off the setlist for a while and that was THE song I was waiting for, it was so disappointing,

Is that a touch of Grecian Formula in his hair? A bit of dark looks better under the stage lights.

Moz is amazingly patient with some 'fans' (they aren't, not teally) who feel so threatened by his allure that they actually wish to harm him...in some kind of pathetic and pointless denial. Those people are really only there in hopes of causing or participating in violence, and this sort of thing has been happening to many band/singers - Sham69, The Specials, Madness etc etc - over the decades, despite numerous onstage pleas from the artists concerned. I don't think this trouble-making even has anything to do with the perceived (often wrongly) nationalist aspects of such artists - in fact, it's very likely that any excuse for a ruck will do...even sheer dislike for the musicians or what they're assumed to represent.

He should start doing a surprise song at each gig.

One song from his extensive back catalogue played as a one off, never to be played again during that tour.

A guarantee of one surprise song per gig.

Could be something off Quarry. Could be a Smiths b-side. Could be something from Bona Drag. Could be something from Maladjusted. Who knows?
i wish he will play i know its over in jersey

That's lame of Placebo. Back in the day, Jane's Addiction would only play "Jane Says" sporadically. Perry said he realized that it was lame for his fans to come to the show and not hear their best-known song so it became a live staple.

So by that standard, I guess HSIN? should be played every time but I don't want it.

I think Morrissey can play How Soon is Now or There is a Light, I think both of those songs are songs fans want and he doesn't have to play both in one night. Yes, that was totally lame of Placebo, even when the lights went on I was still standing there waiting for them to come out and play it :lbf:
