Maybe it’s a mixture of drink and a Xanax concoction that makes him do the growls and muppet sounds and the rats 🐀 and the cuando’s etc
I sure miss sharp as a tack onstage Moz
The shoulder up shrugs and weird tongue 👅 movements are off putting
and come to think of it - he seemed to sing slower than the beat many times
just didn’t give a very “happy to be here” vibe
Going thru the mozmotions

What you say is possible. I also think it's possible that all ofa littl assembled e bit like hired hands as opposed to a "band", because, because they are kind of hands. They are all playing songs mostly written by someone else, and so on and so forth. Jesse I'm sure has a fervent loyalty and excitement. He is very enthusiastically posting pictures and videos from almost every tour stop on his Instagram stories and whatnot.

I think it is also possible that they are indeed excited and enthusiastic – but that doesn't necessarily need to manifest as a jumping around stage presence. Even Boz and Alin (in their most recent tumors of duty) were not exactly jumping around like the rockabilly infused band of the early to mid 90s. I think this band is pretty outwardly stoic and taciturn, but that doesn't mean that they are necessarily unenthusiastic.

And to me this kind of fits the vibe from Morrissey himself over the past 20 or so years – maybe even more. Since 2000 2004, he settled into the lounge crooner and warbler – he's not really following the stage standing on top speakers, doing his arrhythmic hip swivels of old.

Doesn't even whip the microphone cord around nearly as much as used to, but i don't think that means he's less enthusiastic or thankful for the opportunity to sing songs in front an audience, backed by musicians he clearly things are capable and with whom he gets along. (Sometimes, he does seem a little bit bored or at least search of a way to find a new way of singing songa he has sung hundreds times over the decades at this point. I think it was in Speedway last night, from the video that he didn't even seem like he sang the first couple lines
I appreciate what you are saying and I am only a newbie to Moz so respect the opinion of the long term fans ......and maybe I did not word it right and it was not really a criticism but an observation.

It kind of seemed to me that when he went to the back of the stage to the band they just did not seem to connect or look at each other ......no spark? I also noticed less whipping of the microphone - hehe - and that is OK, 100%.

Maybe as this tour moves along they will all find their groove & loosen up more?

I do not follow other socials like Insta, Twitter etc, so missing the posts of band members.
It was just an observation and I am likely wrong.

I still would have loved to have been there regardless

Your observations are completely fair, and could very well be true. I don't operate on the opinion that just because I – or anyone else – might have been fan longer than you, might know some of the different eras, or fellow the band members on social media, that those opinions hold anymore weight than anyone else's opinions. So, if my post gave that impression, I am the one who owes you an apology. Welcome, and I hope you enjoy your time here, and continue to find joy in the music

I shall look forward to watching the other videos later today that were posted - Viva Moz all the way here .................I am happy to be on board and thank you @DaveJCarr for your welcome :guitar: :)

I just watched Life is A Pigsty that was posted here yesterday - he was great but the band just seems to be disinterested?

I am just not getting the vibe with the band and to me there seems to be
zero connection between him and them and even amongst the band themselves, they seem to be so disinterested doing this whole gig and it is opening night !!!!
...
I haven't managed to watch through all the vids yet. Baby J/Sam's are often from the forestage and often the sound isn't so great there so close under speakers, and without the crowd. Saw a couple from a few rows back and there's a different vibe. Sam does sometimes film from there, but then you usually get the pissed chatterbox singalongs too. Often very familiar voices so I'm wondering if this is the traveling "list" brigade we keep hearing about.

I've often wished Moz would interact more with the band but his connection is always more with the front row. It wasn't always like that - way back in the Boz/Alain/Day early days. More recently Gustavo was great catching M's tambourine chucks but he daren't chance that with Camilla. Good to see her on harmonica at least (glad Veronica is back). Also Brendan used to have to dodge flying maracas - something I don't think Matt would tolerate.

Think M might have come in too high on Speedway's start.

First show back though lets cut them some slack. Just relieved wheels are back in motion. Great to see Carmen and Matt in the Halloween facepaint too!

Veronica surfaces (with a female voice in background).

My husband listened to this and he said it's not the same as when Alain played it and it's still Miley in the background vocals.

Does anyone know what happened to the house lights during Ripper last night? That was so weird
It was suggested that the smoke machine triggered a fire alarm somewhere IIRC.
FWD.

The thing that distinguishes this from that wilderness years and not any good way is that we have all these song titles and live debuts of things with with a who knows if they will ever be released status. And if somewhere down the road they do get released, who knows if the original co-writers performances will be on the track or they'll be re-recorded. I think that's a possibility not just for the back up vocals that he's clinging to but for almost everything else assuming there's ever enough is a release of either the two albums we know about

This is so bad I couldn't even listen to the entire song. His voice is cracking, he is singing off key, he is ad libbing God knows what, he should be ashamed of himself that when he actually bothers to show up he performs like this.

This is such a disaster, honestly. He is continuing to play the Miley vocals, which he probably does not have permission to do, which probably means they have not been removed from the album, which probably means it's not coming out.

They should be jumping with joy having such a great gig and tour to look forward to?

I think he is not getting the energy he got with Boz and Alain and would spark with,
he cannot get the vibe going as they are not offering any energy back?

I wonder if this is why he seems to be struggling at times?

I need to watch the new videos Baby J posted though to see if I am totally wrong?
As I am sure you have read around here, some of us are quite unhappy with the new band.

I think that's a distinct possibility. At this point the live tours are about the only thing that are in his full control and that he doesn't mind doin for the most part at leastt. He will continue to do and say what he wants on stage as long as people keep showing up for shows.

The thing about Miley is, he was probably told to not use her vocals at all but he thinks there is some loophole that allows him to use them live, and if he is given a cease and desist again, I can see him canceling the rest of the shows from that point on.

odbmkie, that record company poser, is at it now. Do you think they're Uncleskinny, as someone guessed, which would disappoint me, or 100% troll BrummieBoy, who never reigns in slanderous slurs, stirring it up?
i asked him to provide proof,im still waiting.

OK so I have just watched Baby J's videos after putting them in sequence and have to say Moz's performances are pretty stellar overall - band still seems a little disconnected from each other (they will probably loosen up more as they go along) but Morrissey is really great. I would have been super happy at that show 100%.

He's still got it :thumb:

you do talk utter tripe, you are dying to see cancelled shows.

Morrissey reveals he is 'still available' to the 'right person'

Although I'd be careful about saying that means he's single. It's 2024, after all...

And yes, of course, it could just be a fib!

Lol, unbelievable. That’s it!

Whoever’s going to Arkansas, someone throw him a perfectly folded paper airplane on stage tomorrow night.

On the left wing, in perfect black kohl “Ms. Nocturne is requesting, is suggesting, the pleasure of your in-person company. After your tour”.

DON’T SMUDGE IT
