I don't know the point of any of these shows, esp this last one that had billboards that said love is on the way back or whatever they said. They were not any different than any other shows, they were in small venues (and considering this is really his home turf like you said, makes it even less impressive) and the setlists were basically the same. I think the sign thing was bizarre, I think having Juan do the countdown in Spanish was stupid, those people speak English perfectly fine, he is pandering to Hispanics with 'soft bigotry of low expections' behavior.
The song is about 2 years old now and the Notre Dame fire in 2019 was ruled to be not arson, so the song is even more ridiculous at this point. Did he re record that song or is he just playing more songs that will never be released.
He did not announce a record deal like people were sure he would.
Oh, if only we were such good and uncritical spirits to ease the pain of commercial decline with tons of clips from the concert. Of course, all concertgoers in Moz Angeles are always in a good mood. Always comes across well in a small venue too.

Everything about this show was as awkward as Moz himself parading around with that silly sign.
What exactly was the point of all 3 shows without any announcement of a pending album release?

I definitely agree about the sign. What kind of “live your best life now” pablum is this? Maybe he’s been hanging out with David & Alexis Thurston types too much.

I don't think anything can help his decline and I don't think we should have to pretend it's not happening so the cult members don't have to read the posts and maybe face reality. Can he even get a worse band than this? I don't think so. I don't think he can get back the members who left and Johnny wants absolutely nothing to do with him. The shows continue to be mediocre - at best and he is circling the drain, he can release his albums himself or play smaller and smaller places- tho I don't think those albums are going to help him, I think what might help him is better setlists and a better band.

I feel embarrassed for people who aren’t able to appreciate someone as vibrant and fighting for his right to be real as Morrissey is. They are the emperors without clothes.

He seems to be trying to attract labels, major labels, and seems to be failing miserably. There is nothing dynamic, interesting or exciting about him. Sane old paranoid interviews with Fiona Fatass and same old setlists, same horrible band.

I used to put Morrissey down, because I misunderstood him. I’m embarrassed for that now, and I have done my best to make amends with him. I used to believe he hated people like me, so I hated him ‘back’. Stupid me. Stupid, stupid me. Incredibly stupid. He’s a lover, and he only hates gratuitous cruelty.

I quickly need more videos from the gig to endure your vulgarities. 🫠

I wouldn’t be surprised if the “Notre Dame” which was played was the alleged Re-Recording which supposedly took place in late 2023.

It sounds markedly different than the live versions (despite the fact that the original was played by a different band). Plus the lyric “this is not terrorism” is nowhere to be heard, instead replaced with “there’s nothing to see here”. This was a common lyrical change he made towards the end of that year’s tour.

Happy new year everyone. Hoping everyone who went had a great time as it seems these shows were indeed a success.
@oliver_g enjoyed himself!

SAM:
A lot of Facebook nonentities obsessively criticize you, as if they almost have a crush on you but can’t get your attention. Is this hurtful?
M:
I’m a stern believer in free speech, but in my case I actually mean free speech for everyone - not just for those who agree with me. So, people must say what they feel, and when it gets ugly or insulting it reflects badly on them - not on me. It’s usually best to leave your critics alone with their own words clanking through their brains. If you rush into a defensive reply you dignify their position. Actually, I don’t even care…

Turning the inside out

That's not true. Morrissey has a mean streak wide as a highway. All his interviews and Autobiography are full of cruel things he has said about people he dislikes. Those things used to be funny, but that's all in the past. Now he seems like a crumbling man held together only by his grudges.

If this is indeed the re-recording of Notre-Dame (and I really think it is) I have zero hope of musical progression. Alain's input on WMTWD was my only glimpse of hope, things would get better. No warmth in the recording and uncle Joe still @ the helm.
