That's not true. Morrissey has a mean streak wide as a highway. All his interviews and Autobiography are full of cruel things he has said about people he dislikes. Those things used to be funny, but that's all in the past. Now he seems like a crumbling man held together only by his grudges.
Stating his opinions about people isn’t “a mean streak wide as a highway”. It’s communication. Brave communication, though he hurt my feelings terribly when he muttered Kylie Minogue’s name angrily many years ago. I think he’s gentler now.

He gets this strange/good concert date on his homeground. Somehow he's "obliged" to hold up a sign at midnight (never his idea, imho) and to be present at the ballon drop.......and then they play Notre Dame from the tape. What's the point of all these efforts to get media attention if he wants to sell songs like this in the end? One step forward, two steps back.
maybe he has a deal and hes saying you will be listening to this soon.
people on here said he would be nowhere near the balloon drop.
its a sign saying happy new you,why wouldnt it be his idea, its a play on happy new year, its hardly groundbreaking.

I completely agree, his behavior just over the past few years has been incredibly nasty, he lashed out at and attacks everyone

If this is indeed the re-recording of Notre-Dame (and I really think it is) I have zero hope of musical progression. Alain's input on WMTWD was my only glimpse of hope, things would get better. No warmth in the recording and uncle Joe still @ the helm.

Well said. Difficult to tell if it’s due to the lo-fi aspect of the recording here, but if he’s truly switched out Alain Whyte’s lovely homage to disco Floyd in favor of industrial plonking, then the song has lost its only redeeming quality.

This means, that he, who cannot be gagged, has adapted the crude lyrics in such a way, that a record company could theoretically just about swallow them. Success? Really?

I don't think anything can help his decline and I don't think we should have to pretend it's not happening so the cult members don't have to read the posts and maybe face reality. Can he even get a worse band than this? I don't think so. I don't think he can get back the members who left and Johnny wants absolutely nothing to do with him. The shows continue to be mediocre - at best and he is circling the drain, he can release his albums himself or play smaller and smaller places- tho I don't think those albums are going to help him, I think what might help him is better setlists and a better band.
Agree

Serious question and its as cliche as you would expect? Why the hell do you come here? It's New Year and yet, despite your apathy and indifference to M, your fingers still feel the need to reach a vocal platform. Attention? Mummy or Daddy issues? I dunno. I been around since Hand in Glove and have never martyred Moz. He's human, like us all. I genuinely don't get it.
she will be on here all day telling us how bad the shows were without even having attended them,
she is always going on about fionas weight,i think she might be one of those big fat ameicans you see in documentaries, she will be destroying a king size gateaux as we speak.

According to some people on Facebook, there was a set time for the end and then a DJ played for an hour and Notre Dame was part of the DJ set. I wonder if s/he played more of that album.
