Moz does things his way, as he always has. You don't have to watch, or listen, if it's not your thing.
Redacted is exactly the sort who ruins the act with too much talk and serious hang ups. Such neuroticism, either intentional or without continence. . .

To Redacted: We know your feelings, we know. Repeating your pi$$ing, a sure sign of no self-control and no self-awareness, needs you to apply a diaper. Go get treated for your dysfunction. . . For heaven’s sake, let yourself go one concert or positive report without pi$$ing yourself. 😆 Make a resolution this year to find one glimmer of joy each day.

For those who enjoy toxic dumping, Redacted is your fellow! Occasional subjective or objective dumping is actually okay because it makes things interesting, but some folk are just so fetid ALL the time.

Thanks for sharing bits of your good time with Morrissey and Co. this evening to everyone but the incontinent whiners and repetitive potshot-takers!

But, Happy New Year to all - including Redacted.

The problem, to my ear, is that there's hardly any guitar at all in this recording. I hear the drums, the voice, and what may be some industrial-like, percussive guitar bursts. Maybe this is what Whyte originally wrote, though it sounds like it might be a new arrangement in the style of ... Bones UK. Yikes. If he's switched out co-writers for the same (more or less) lyrics, there's some precedence: Home is a Question Mark and Bengali in Platforms.
I can't see this as any dissimilar to the Veronica backing vocals changing prominence or live Rebels having a different feel to the lambasted studio take. Throw in the overload of bass in the live broadcast and it all becomes a muddied mess.
Hopefully, there will be some YT footage of the end of the gig.
Regards,
FWD.

More than the god-awful lyrics?

Well, yes, but that was always a problem. I thought it was a brilliant curio: some of his worst lyrics set to a groovy arrangement (if he's going for unexpected niches of the 1970s, he and Whyte found a great one there). I hope the studio track is faithful to what's been played live—and that it hasn't been jettisoned altogether.

Who knows what Unreleased Album No. 2 is like at this point. I don't dislike Carmen Vandenberg as a player in his band, but based on her original material, I fear her as a potential co-writer.

Or maybe he just thinks the line now 'scans' better? The 'this is not terror-ism' line doesn't exaxtly trip off the tongue.
The point of the song remains. 5 years on and they still don't know what caused the fire. It looks like at this point we will never know what caused the fire. Just think about that
for a second. And yet they 'ruled out terrorism' straight away. Fire causation is a science. That statement wasn't.

You know, some people who are critical stayed out of the US tour threads, because it was the same old boring stuff, and were accused of 'hiding', and now people are complaining that the critical people are posting, so I guess the rest of you will have to learn to deal with it, and use ignore or something.
There's plenty to criticize here, this was poorly done and since criticism is allowed here as part of the discussion, I will post what I think about these shows.
Criticism is all fine and well.
Repetition is not.
Stale bread.

Stating his opinions about people isn’t “a mean streak wide as a highway”. It’s communication. Brave communication, though he hurt my feelings terribly when he muttered Kylie Minogue’s name angrily many years ago. I think he’s gentler now.
Well, some people think everybody around them is a waste of space. That is indeed an opinion, but it's usually a mean opinion. And saying that to people who have not provoked you in any way is just cruel. When was the last time Morrissey said something nice about anyone outside obitaries?
