I did not expect to see set list changes but Girlfriend in a Coma has to be the worst song alongside Bigmouth that The Smiths ever did.

Hey M, "What would you do if you weren't afraid?"

Maybe appear on stage with musicians who are more your equal?

How soon with great Brendan outro

Hopefully he finally starts shaking things up in 2024. I'm not sure I can take another year of this.
If he comes back to the UK next year I’m not going to see him unless there are major changes to the setlist.

It’s beyond tedious now.

I’d rather he took out How Soon Is Now and played Golden Lights instead. At least it would be fresh.

What a bunch of whingers. A 64 year old goes on a world tour with a great Tokyo setlist. 19 songs with perhaps 2 duds. I just saw the Happy Mondays and got 13 songs with 4 yawners.

That said, for an alternate 40 yr show, perhaps we could enjoy this 19, weighted towards the well-known and a spread over time:

This Charming Man/That Joke Isn't/Bigmouth/There is a light/Asleep/Last Night I Dreamt/Alsatian Cousin/Late Night Maudlin St/November/Last of the Famous/Sing your life/Nat Front Disco/Now My Heart if Full/The More you ignore me/Why don't you find out/The Teachers are afraid/Come back to Camden/I'm throwing my arms/Spent the day in bed

same boring setlist, you'd think the band would learn more songs from now.

As with most of the cultural imagery that Morrissey presents at shows, I suspect it's ultimately nothing deeper than 'some dude Moz happens to find hot'.
