Oasis reunion + Morrissey

are Morrissey fans not allowed to attend?
And would Morrissey fans want to stick around for the uninteresting (safe) music that Oasis plays?

Morrissey fans could certainly attend, and I'm sure there'd even be some overlap. I'm just saying that if Oasis plays Wembley with Morrissey opening, I doubt the majority of people there bought tickets for the support act.

Guys, I never said “support act”, that’d be like looking down on Moz.
I’m dreaming of a ‘special guest night’ I dunno but like someone said, there are enough mancunian icons, and true Morrissey isn’t that kind of britpop.
Johnny might need some cash, and if it happens, then someone out there with the right amount and charm might feel tempted to reunite Johnny and Moz… just saying don’t kill me 😂

But who can make hell freeze over? (sorry I'm not trying to discourage fan fiction).

Noel has said something about not liking the recent Morrissey very much
And Morrissey did diss people using the Oasis song/called them morons and spoke negatively of the One Love Manchester concert Liam was part of
There isn't any reason to include Morrissey in this and he is not even good enough to be support for Oasis, and is not important enough to be a special guest.
This is about Oasis, not giving Morrissey some chance he should earn on his own.

If it happens, Cast, The Charlatans, Richard Ashcroft, Kasabian and Johnny Marr are the bands people are talking about as support acts at the moment, The Charlatans are the most mentioned but I reckon there will be 3 or 4 support acts.

The only date being talked about at New Orders gig was Heaton Park in Manchester which made sense bearing in mind anyone involved in the Manchester music scene was there last night.
Richard and Johnny are great choices

Never, never, never gonna happen between Moz and Johnny, especially at an Oasis gig of all places. If this Oasis reunion does go ahead, and you're looking for a couple of ex-Smiths to maybe walk on and do some guest appearance together, I think you'd be far better off putting a couple of quid on Johnny and Mike Joyce.

There's no way Moz would play second fiddle to the Gallagher Brothers. Although He may need the cash more than Johnny. Moz has only got money from his back catalogue, merch and the few shows he's played. Johnny's got the back catalogue, a best-selling signature guitar, a popular book, soundtrack work, a Healers re-release and he's been playing giant festivals all summer.

So it's basically only happening because of an expensive divorce? Sounds a bit sad that.

I mean, I'm sure they will still be great, and I was a fan first time around. But it seems money really does make the world go round.

Noel has refused to entertain it for years and is suddenly in 'need' of money. Something tells me he could survive on what he has left.

Can't see Morrissey ever agreeing to supporting or joining them on stage. He's too much his own person, and I think he's learned the hard way where those things are concerned. So I can't see him wanting anything to do with Oasis mania.

Marr on the other hand...
yip,M is always telling us why bands shouldnt get back together so dont think he would want anything to do with it,when bands get back together a bit of their legacy dies, lets face it oasis had 2 good albums and their success was down to capturing a moment in time and the whole blur v oasis thing, which they lost by a big margin.
blur singles 274,000.
oasis singles 216000

And the silly people sing: "Don't Look Back in Anger"
And the morons sing and sway: "Don't Look Back in Anger"

As well as it being sung in relation to the bombing of the Ariane Grande gig, I have wondered whether it irritates Morrissey that the bastardised, ham-fisted title of the Oasis song has usurped the elegant title of the John Osborne play as a phrase in the public consciousness.

It irritates me.
I don't think it's that. Referencing a famous play from the late 1950s would probably be one of the things that Morrissey likes about the song. I'm sure as a lyricist and song-smith he admires the song - it's a good pop song, and very embedded in a musical tradition of bands like Mott the Hoople and The Beatles. I don't think Bonfire of Teenagers takes issue in any way with the song itself. It takes issue with how the song was used to manipulate and manage the public response to the massacre of young people attending a concert.
I was never a big fan of Oasis. Always preferred bands like Suede and Pulp. But for good or ill they did capture the spirit of their age. In a way The Smiths never achieved. Is there maybe just a hint of jealousy in there too? Or annoyance, perhaps, that The Smiths never received the media saturation of praise that Oasis did? When we all know which band is the more important in terms of artistry and influence, now that we have the benefit of hindsight.

Looks like Noel's recent divorce may have been a factor in changing his mind about a reunion with 'our kid' Liam? He lost £20 million and an £8 million mansion. This most likely explains his decision to play these 'heritage act' shows that the rumours are will make him and Liam £50 million. Moz was maybe wise to stick to his 'will never marry' outlook on life?

oasis couldnt lace the smiths boots, noel would probably agree with that,he could never compete with M as a lyricist as well, for anyone in doubt watch the importance of being morrissey.

when they say an oasis reunion does this include the original members,if it doesnt then its not a reunion.

Rumours that Blossoms are one of the support acts after the Oasis logo and date appeared on the screens after their Wythenshawe gig last night.
