In March it will be 5 years since his last LP. That’s the entire length of time The Smiths existed.

I'm not trying to be rude. I'm just saying - it doesn't matter. None of this matters. I've been trapped in the Mozzerverse for years and am still trying to extricate myself(!) but really - a well-adjusted person is not living their life from album to album, counting down the days to the next show announcement or putting their whole life on hold whilst he wrangles with record labels. Anyone who is, well - they should at least be getting paid for it.

No-one but Morrissey has any reason to care about this stuff, and getting so invested in it all is a choice you can stop making any time. When I realise it's been 5 years since Dog, all I can think is "how much time did I waste in those 5 years, reading and writing about a guy with no record deal, who hardly played shows and was basically invisible to the outside world?" How much time am I still wasting, looking at his slideshow of the dead? It will never be 1984 again. It will never be 2004 again. You can be perennially disappointed with all his poor decisions and spend years criticising and fantasising about another 'comeback', or you can just fade out from it and let go. I wish so much that I had let go at the peak and been able to cut the cord then.

I have projected, yes... because I see the same patterns and frustrations in lots of 'diehards' and I just wish somebody had woken me up earlier. You're annoyed because he's making all the wrong decisions, he's alienating people, he's making an absolute car crash out of things and it could be so much better if only X,Y,Z... right? And you're hoping for change? I just think it's hopeless. He isn't going to listen to any of us or come back cap in hand to Pete Galli, he's going to keep whining and blaming other people for his misfortunes until he dies. I think there is just a point where an adult has to say "Ok, fair enough" and accept it before they are typing the same things over and over for a decade. Moz might give his every waking moment to this stuff but we don't have to.

I’ll disagree. It’s no coincidence that the Morrissey albums that tend to do the best are the ones where he also makes an effort with the media

He acts like a z-list celebutard who’s desperate to try to scrounge together some z-list solow attention based on some inappropriate gossiping. Inappropriate because the publicly gossiping aspect of this behavior wouldn’t fly in any industry. The real cringe factor here is that aiming to be a z-list celebutard on solow, based on gossiping about someone else’s business dealings, is miles more deeply entrenched in the hell pits of the sewer than any actual z-list celebutard ever could be.
