I always preferred Marianne's version of "Dear God Please Help Me" to Morrissey's original much as I prefer his version of "Some Say I Got Devil" to the original and his version of "Loneliness Remembers What Happiness Forgets to most others.

I remember Morrissey telling us about meeting Marianne Faithful in his hotel in Brussels during his concert (November 2009). He spent a good moment with her the night before the concert and he was in a good mood the night of the concert.

Another sad loss, RIP Marianne.

I thought Give My Love To London - (the album) was one of 2014's best releases. She had quite a run of late-stage career Brillance- an all too rare occurrence. Even 2021's spoken word album She Walks in Beauty, cliche as some of the choices may be, is not without its pleasures. I listen to her recite "Ozymandias" frequently. My hope whenever an artist dies is that more people who couldn't name a song dive in and discover. The work endures, after all
