BACK TO THE OLD HOUSE

"I am well aware of the Smiths' rise in recents years, and their affirmed position in our cultural heritage. It proves how taking risks can work beautifully … and if you don't take risks when you make music then what the hell are you doing making music? I am incredibly grateful to anyone who walked out to buy, or who stayed in to download, Smiths' music. The musicians are considered to be those who make the change, but the consumer plays an equal part by having faith. We're all in this together. It was always about a refusal to surrender to enemy propaganda - something I still face today just as much as I faced it in 1983, 84, 85, 86 and 87. The Smiths do not end."

Tbh you’d only really need a Morrissey and Marr reunion for it to sound the bit. That can still happen, thankfully.
Not quite. There's no bassist can truly play those bass parts as did Andy (not even Guy Pratt).

I assume he's no further on with a future album release, hence the retreat back to the happier, good old days.
Of course he isn’t! If there was anything remotely close to happening, he would tie it in with these upcoming North American shows (at least a third of which won’t take place) - but …. No… nothing.
A cold hand just touched me.

Rock Celebrities picks up on Morrissey's post

It may seem really strange, but I hold the opposite view - he was a dull, of miniscule interest in the 80's - early 90's, run of the mill geeky-looking performer. Now, I find him...yes, human, but generous and full of mystery! Oh, why should that be?
He was not dull and definitely NOT geeky looking. We all aspired to look like him but there could only be one Morrissey! Good times.

Outlandish, absurd and quite frankly mind-blowing to refer to 1980’s Moz as dull and run-of-the-mill. There was absolutely no one like him. No one looked or dressed like him, no one sounded like him, no one wrote like he did, no one had the same influences, no one were as outspoken as he was.
