The original piece of music was quite rich and warm if I remember correctly, but the repetitive lyrics threw me off at the time and they are still largely there.
It was great music. Musically, what I’ve heard from Without Music stands head and shoulders above Bonfire.

Explain how that’s complaining. It’s a simple fact that you assign a positive or negative to- not me. Morrissey made a huge deal about a NYE show and then passed off countdown duties to someone nobody outside a few dozen of us dorks knows. Who has zero history or co-writes or anything. It’s not like he handed countdown duties to Boz or Alain or even Gary.
Juan may be a nobody in our world, but he is quite popular in Latino circles. I just checked it, and his own band won a grammy for best Latin / alternative album last year. And with a marriachi band as opening act, this was probably intended as a night for his Latino fans that are still hanging around.

Agree on the music, I liked the relaxed late-night vibe of Notre Dame and Night Pop. It saddens me that we will most likely never have a chance to hear the entire recording.

The setlist is such a snooze. I fondly remember 2004, when he'd play 5 or even 6 Smiths songs a night! It'd be thrilling to never hear FOTGTD live ever again. It's been around since 2002, give it a rest, wontcha?! He needs a new band (STARTING WITH TOBIAS' DEPARTURE) and then do a tour ONLY playing Smiths songs. I know it'll never happen, but I guarantee it would fill venue seats faster than any other action he has tried in recent years.......And yes, he looked uncomfortable, awkward, and ridiculous holding that Happy New You sign last night.

Just listened to the "new" version of Notre-Dame again. Twice. I hear some resemblance to "Never again will I be a twin". A song that didn't work well for me. A Disco beat and repetitive (crude) lyrics? Really? You tried that already and it didn't bring the masses back. Even Blondie can't cling to their old formula anymore. Dancefloor is reserved for the younger ones. Why this test balloon during the outro and after show party. Strange.

Donk!
Donk!
Donk!
Never Again Will I Be A Twin
is a whopper popper.

Sounds nerdy, but this talk about the countdown to midnight reminds me of his appearance on Jools Holland and his refusal to respond to Jools' "knock knock" joke.

exactly. (y)

If Morrissey REALLY wanted to surprise peeps the go-to move would've been to jump into a white jacketed tux with bow tie and reenter the stage holding up a glass of high quality scotch, Sinatra styles while doing the countdown himself.

What a finale that would've been. I bet it would've got some decent press coverage too.

Definitivamente me siento ofendido por la forma en que estas canciones son interpretadas por un grupo mediocre de supuestos músicos pésimos. Steven:aplaudir::aplaudir::aplaudir::aplaudir:

I used to put Morrissey down, because I misunderstood him. I’m embarrassed for that now, and I have done my best to make amends with him. I used to believe he hated people like me, so I hated him ‘back’. Stupid me. Stupid, stupid me. Incredibly stupid. He’s a lover, and he only hates gratuitous cruelty.
What are you like? Moz is not someone who loves "people" in general. I had the impression that M was a more considerate being until the cancellations happened, it's a fiasco he said. He never ever took into account any of us who paid to see him, nothing, he never thought about the effort that many of us had to make to get a ticket to go to his show. He never explained that something happened to him and that because of that, he could not go and although it may not be his fault he did not say anything. That is not done, that is ungratefulness. That speaks of the person. It is unfortunate what I am saying but it is the truth. Acting with indifference towards those who admire you is pure ego. M is very dizzy with the ego issue... And it's not their zenith moment😡🥺🥺🥺😡

I agree with many of your points... but of all the weak songs on that setlist, you take aim at FOTGTD? It's an LA-inspired song so it's fitting he sang it last night. He only played it like 6 times in 2024. I'd much rather see Fatty and everything from ROTT/YOR removed.

OMG that would have been Epic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So much so that in Argentina there were people who donated money. There was a woman who donated thousands of dollars for the reconstruction of that church. They are closed people who do not read, do not inform themselves and do not draw conclusions or cannot... to accept the business that is the Catholic Church... Poor Jesus, they used his name to line their pockets. That's why I never understood why, Morrissey, such an intelligent man, supports the Catholic Church. I was also raised by my parents, especially my mother, who was a believer. But I woke up and saw what it was
UN FIASCO!!!!!
