Artists need promoters to put on shows… like Chris York. (See Morrissey Central post on his passing from July of this year). Without them, nothing happens. There aren’t too many promoters in London or Manchester who could/should/would handle a Morrissey-less Smiths show. If the promoters shoot down your trial balloon, well then “there are no such plans” to play without Moz. Get it?

Simon Moran lives round here too and is a mate of my building partner, so yes I get it.

How strange, then, that none of these loose-lipped people could give him the real picture about the trademark situation before he started goading Johnny publicly and made a colossal tit of himself. Something he still hasn't acknowledged or apologised for.

Who the hell is advising him? Why is he being fed all this third-hand gossip and just believing it, rather than picking up the phone and speaking to Johnny?

I think half the reason he is in this current mess is because he has no real team and has trusted all the wrong people to handle his affairs - a bunch of unprofessional fools with their snouts too deep in the trough to see straight. And whatever your involvement with BOT or Capitol, peddling these rumours about "dodgy camp Marr" makes you just another shit-stirring cog in that machine.

It's impossible, as a fan, to know whether Morrissey is actually lying when he gets things wrong or if he's being lied to by someone in the sad payroll circus that surrounds him. All I know is that I'm sick to the back teeth of the circus and the "insiders" and I couldn't care less anymore what happens to those albums. It is an undignified shitshow.

I think part of it is people putting importance on what he says - which often is half-truths and sometimes outright lies. Look at the narrative he created around BOT being "held hostage" by Capitol - trying to "silence" him and such. Some people believed it - see this petition ("Capitol Records Does not want this album released because they see Morrissey as a threat for being genuine." Yet Capitol signed him. ). Then the emails are leaked telling a far different story, which BTW he never claimed were false. I think real fans should be upset by events like this and it erodes his credibility. But I guess you're only a real fan if you accept being lied to with a smile on your face.

I miss the old days of being a Morrissey fan when it involved reading funny and witty interviews and being inspired by new releases. I hope we can get back to that.

There definitely is a cult like mentality here with some which I have never seen anywhere in a site or page or group about a singer or band, even when handed facts and proof, they find a way to deny it and shoot the messenger.
I too wish Morrissey did not change and he was the same witty, talented person he used to be, but I guess we aren't supposed to notice or comment on it.

I’m convinced the real reason he doesn’t do Fiona-less interviews is he knows there is a laundry list of questions he simply can’t face from a competent interviewer. And I’m not even talking about the nonsense claims of racism, etc. Imagine me interviewing him and getting into World Peace, the Supreme fiasco, Viva Mozi Airlines, asking why Boz and Alain aren’t involved, but polite enough to not talk about it. The nephews KMAL vid and continued involvement. I’d skewer him and he’d shit himself. He’s painted himeself into a corner career-wise and his ego won’t allow a simple escape.

He did do another recently with someone who posted here first askug us questions and then the interview itself was just a Morrissey ass kissing party. For all of Morrissey's chest beating about what an adventurous rebellious protecter and defender of free speech and all that is good he is, he really is a nasty little coward. I guess some people don't seem to know it's people's actions, not words, that tell you who they are.

My point was that in repeating this stuff about Johnny's management, you're making a tawdry mess worse. It feeds perfectly into Morrissey's paranoia, of course - I'm being gagged, I'm being deleted from history, blah blah - but beyond that, it's nothing but stirring the pot.

These are desperate times and fans are fighting for crumbs from insiders to try and explain the madness. I just think you are enjoying that a little too much, and starting to blur the lines between what you 'know' and what you think in a way that reminds me of Uncleskinny. Some fans here are quick to call others 'cult-like' but give them the slightest whiff of gossip or a glimpse behind the curtain, and all critical thinking goes out the window.

Can you tell us the background behind the passport drama, even a few details? Thanks.

Nothing super interesting…. Just that the people who returned it initially wanted money, then wanted to return it to Morrissey himself. In person. That didn’t happen, but they did end up returning it. I’d love to find out more details of the exchange myself.

They did post about a couple of times a year from 2006 but that history is now deleted. The site must be complicit with whatever scam is going on here, given the '2 hour phone conversation with admin a few months ago, that wasn't contradicted. Insider in MSolo sense anyway. Thinking about behaviour of other posters like Uncleskinny who've been ragingly obsessive-compulsively critical over the years but let up since this new kid came to town/username was created, means we're catching on. In particular, see Brummie Boy's changed posting patterns over the same period.

This oddiemackie keeps accusing Morrissey, demanding answers, but really isn't it time to shine the spotlight back on this bad faith player?

I agree. To be fair, his career became a dumpster fire in July, 2014 and he hasn't looked back!

He's at a disadvantage with people like you being permitted to constantly hate on him in full public view, in comparison to sites of people like Johnny Marr, who would have you tossed out on your ear a long time ago.
