What does skinhead mean in this context? Just shaved heads? I've only ever heard skinheads in reference to neonazis.
Jesus, how old are you guys? The original skinheads had nothing to do with neo Nazis and a lot of them were black. Google skinhead culture some day, kiddo.

Yeah, totally loving the Morrissey stage backdrops ending up on shirts! This one's a real beauty actually. :D

I used to have a Morrissey shirt with similar shades of purple.

Anyway, im glad we cleared that up. All this time I thought the girls in that picture were neo nazis and I thought "oh that's neat that people don't seem to mind!" :lbf:

It was also the cover (back cover?) for the photo program sold on that tour (like programs sold at baseball games you hear the barkers selling)

I really miss those…

Never see them anywhere (except Vegas cirque show.
High quality photo collections that are a great keepsake from a show. Also cheaper and longer lasting than a shirt.
I still have this and the kill uncle tour one that I bought at the shows. Also acquired an old program from the meat is murder tour (that has great content)

Suddenly. I liked Kevin Bacon as an actor before, but now there is another reason for positive emotions in his direction

Excellent photo taken by a professional. Kevin looks great, and noticeably younger than his age, and yet he is a year older than Morrissey. Well, genetics is not a simple thing.

Not that it makes much difference but this photo seems to have been for an article in El Pais, a Spanish newspaper in July 2021 (also posted on Ryan Lowry's Instagram 6th July 2021). Translated, the article starts 'Yes, he likes bacon very crispy'! I'll try to link.

Yep, more of a fashion thing. Doc Martens come to mind. Nothing to do with racist hate I'm pretty sure.
Perhaps it depends on your perception. For the London residents in this video from 1978 (two years before the date of the photo Morrissey used of skinheads), the racist National Front thugs who attack them are synomymous with 'skinheads'.

every town in the uk had a skinhead gang, thing about growing up in the late 70s and 80 was that there was different tribes, you had skins, mods, punks, new romantics, itwas a fantastic time to be growing up as their was so much going on in the world.

Agreed Gordy, a great time to be growing up, most people my age were in their tribes, tho the skinheads mostly tended to be into 2-tone and the sixties ska bands. You had bands like Sham and the Angelic Upstarts etc who absolutely rallied against the racism which was later associated with the oi bands. I think people who are now in their 50s were very lucky to be teenagers back in the day.
Listening to the charts at school to see if Numan was higher in the charts than the Specials. These things were very important to a 12 year old.
