When I started my marathon reading of Mitford sisters' writings, I had no idea that Linder had had an exhibition at Chatsworth House, the stately home residence of one of the sisters, Deborah, who was a duchess, was a friend of and related to President Kennedy, and who was a lifelong Elvis fan.

Maybe Morrissey would arrange a London date in the Spring to coincide with it? Maybe a residency in the Roundhouse, (which I missed in 2008 due to cancellation) What chance too a duet of a Ludus song?! Having only seen Linder's work on page and screen, it'd be special to see the real thing.

One of the songs on Chelsea Girl written by Jackson Browne, of Running on Empty fame. Have never been a huge fan of that album. It should be an absolute classic, given the talent involved, but the arrangements just don't work for me. Apparently Nico didn't like the strings and flute arrangements either - added by producer Tom Wilson against her wishes.

As much as I love Nico, I’m gonna side with Tom on this. I think they’re sweet, especially that flute, they work with the songs. Wilson being a producer was only doing his job in trying to make it a bit more commercial. Though, I prefer her solo song records more, which are far from commercial.

Btw, I’m surprised they haven’t released a ‘naked’ version of CGirl. Or have they?
