Morrissey Central "ONCE THERE WAS A WAY" (December 5, 2024)

He could always sign other artist's records and sell them at a higher price.
shows he has good business sense, buy a single for ten quid, sign it,flog it for a ton and the mark up is ninety quid, there isnt a business anywhere who wouldnt want that sort of profit.

on you go smash that dislike button.

ps--notre dame is reopening tomorrow, the great and the good will be there for the opening.
someone should mash up paris and notre so the result will be im throwing my arms around notre dame.

‘Good business’ means looking at the bigger picture, and growing the value of the brand and people’s trust in it.

I grew to enjoy the debacle that was signing other artists’ records for quick petty cash: I actually liked the degrading KLF-style insanity of it. Especially as, if a fan asked him to sign a Bowie record, I expect they’d be given very short shrift.

Laudable/laughable self-effacing art stunt, yes. But ‘good business’? I’m not so sure.

Once there was a way to what? Reach fans?

Nothing is stopping you from doing an instore. Other than having to face questions.

Also needs:

1. A manager to arrange the admin side of things.
2. A store willing to have him around. There are too many stores to start with, these days. It's not 1995 any more. It's not even 2010.

It's a stunt that once again made him an object of derision. A quick buck yes, but no business sense.

why would he do an in-store with nothing to promote.
he may as well nip into his local hmv and browse the jobriath section.
To meet and chat with his devoted fans?

I was just thinking...
Does anyone else think that he won't do meet and greets and interviews much anymore is because he's self conscious of his looks now? We all know Moz can be a bit vain. The fact that he uses photos of himself from the 90's to promote himself now is somewhat proof of that.. I think..
I wouldn't be surprised. It's very human of him.

If he cared that much he'd hit the gym, get some hair transplants and have a little work done. It can be done very subtly now. If Bruce Springsteen can do it, so can Moz.

I agree.. all except for the "have a little work done," I'm not a fan of injection / face lift culture myself.
It's just not like him to do any of that. Dying his hair and stuff.. it'd be so out of character.
He is still pretty nimble. Seeing him on stage doing full squats and easy getting back up is a good sign. He's got good movement for his age, as far as I can tell, which makes me wonder if he does do some stretching and light exercise on his free time.
It's hard to do much of anything with the black dog nipping at your heels! I should know.

He could easily empower someone and not call that person a manager. That person could do social media and sort out his messy catalog on streaming services at least.

He chooses not to.

It’s been nearly 3 months with no announcement of new management or anything, besides some hastily arranged LA gigs announced less than a month out, which seem designed to attract a manager and label. He’s gonna say “rats” an extra dozen times just to seal the deal.

I wish he could at least do an old-fashioned fan Q&A on Central like he used to during the TTY days, but I can't really see that happening right now.

I think any interviewer worth his/her salt would want a face to face meeting and would ask him about some of his more controversial comments, hence the easily vetted emailed Q & As.

Notwithstanding the shirt tossing at concerts, I think someone who would mention his hair stylist on album credits finds the aging process hard to deal with.

he’s done Central ones before. It’s just a matter of Mr. Riggers being up to interviewing him or not.

Ah, maybe that's why he doesn't want to do any interviews.
Because he would be confronted with some of the stupid shit he has said and he couldn’t charm his way out of it. Who has he spoken to publicly recently? Diddy Dodders and The Nephew. Who both rely on him for an income.
It could be that after decades of flag waving, race-baiting, immigrant bashing, accent-mocking, BOT-writing and Notre-Dame-ing, he is finally being held to account. And rather than try to explain himself, he refuses all interviews and claims pariah status.
