Morrissey Central "ONCE THERE WAS A WAY" (December 5, 2024)

Once there was a way to what? Reach fans?

Nothing is stopping you from doing an instore. Other than having to face questions.

There aren't any 'stores' left. Not in these islands, at least. They all closed years ago.
And, you may not have noticed, but he can't get a major label to release his album. So nothing for him to sign... ;)

Had my involvement continued, I had all sorts of suggestions for his off days on this past tour. We def could have done one in Buffalo. Doesn’t matter there wasn’t a new release. He knows what he needs to do to promote himself, he just doesn’t do any of it.

Note the beginning of him using his Instagram again in July was him being shown the 1992 Houston Instore news clip while backstage in Vegas on July 27 and posting it.

Because he saw that, mentioned the anniversary of Your Arsenal right when he walked on stage that night. “Happy Your Arsenal Anniversary, Darling!”

Manchester has a large HMV, a Fopp (owned by HMV), Vinyl Exchange, Piccadilly Records, several other independent record stores etc. etc. There's plenty of stores left in the major cities, some doing quite well with the boom in the physical markets, like vinyl.

Even Stockport has three independent record shops all within a 1 minute walk of each other, as well as HMV.

Manchester HMV I believe:

By 'store' I meant the big 'mega-stores' of the past. Belfast just has a small HMV shop now. London has an HMV store but it's a pale relation of the their flag-ship store of the past. It's been years since I was in Manfester - but glad to hear it's better up north.

Got a feeling they're coming in the spring. These LA shows are definitely similar to the Vegas shows. I'm hoping since there's only three shows, he'll give us a special setlist. But yet again, who knows ;)?
No chance. He would have to pay the band more to allow them time to rehearse: I don’t think he will do that and it will pretty much be the same or a very similar setlist.

Once, there was a way to get back homeward...

Unless I'm as sadly mistaken as someone who still believes Hilaire Belloc to be alive, a UK/Ireland tour announcement is imminent. I'm hoping.🤞

Yes, most music stores are gone - although Amoeba in Hollywood would be a great option. Yet there are more ways to reach your audience now. He's just not interested.

As an example, if it sells out he could livestream the NYE show.

i just about still work for hmv and yes i know we are and apparently never were a "real" record shop ( had to diversify to survive ) but my store in Newcastle could do a signing no bother ( we had 2 of the one direction lads over last few years ) in fact when Low in High School came out i had a few nessages back n forth with Sam and i mentioned it then ... he didnt take the bait obviously . but if and when we get a new album then i am sure something could be arranged ( we even have a performance space ) . still decent size in Arndale too , Oxford street has reopened , Edinburgh , Vault in Birmingham and Glasgow Argyle
just sayin .....

‘once there was a way’ is open to interpretation. Yeah, you can go there if you want.
Other than having to face questions.

And if he were to answer, then what kind of answers do you imagine? And would they satisfy you?

And how would you feel about putting Morrissey on the spot, when much has gone into getting him to do the instore in the first place for fans that are simply just happy to see him in person?

It certainly wont be the same. Im sure it will be similar, but there will be special songs.

No stores left, are you sure? Some people are willing to put in the promotion work...
