were planned for 2024 worldwide release by Warner Records along with a deluxe box release of The Smiths first album in order to commemorate its 40-year anniversary, and also a new 7-inch of This Charming Man. Warner approached Morrissey and Darren Evans to assemble artwork for all four releases, all of which were rejected and halted out of hand by J Marr.

f***'s sake. How many versions of the Smith's Catalogue have we had? About 5 up to this point?

Good for Johnny blocking this, and we can all see Morrissey's motivation here £££££££

Can you imagine the state of the Smiths back catalogue if Morrissey had been able to do the revisionism he did on his own solo reissues? Thank God Johnny took charge for the 2011 remasters. They'd all have new crap covers and buggered around track-listings otherwise.

What a terrible title for a Smiths greatest hits. The cover photo is just about OK. Do we really need another Smiths compilation? I'd welcome a Hand In Glove 12" and This Charming Man 12" reissue followed by 12" reissues of every Smiths single, but at a reasonable price. The price of the recent Suede 7" reissues was obscene and I'm not buying into it.

Morrissey is like a little kid whose friends don't want to play with anymore. Then he cries and complains to everyone around him. So sad . :pensive:

Btw , title and cover both are terrible doh:

Thank god for Johnny Marr! That Smiths Rule OK cover is just embarrassing. The original Hand In Glove cover is a classic.

Previous Esteban and Evans cover work.
I believe he (Evans) deals with fonts and colouring.
FWD.

Morrissey has burned all his bridges - what the hell did he expect?

After publishing that public letter slagging off Johnny, he has the gall to come crawling back to Marr a year later asking him for reissues and a reunion tour - does he not realise that actions have consequences? After that, it would not surprise me if Johnny ghosted him and automatically deleted/blocked anything Morrissey related that landed in his inbox.
