NIAGARA FALLS

The November 19 show at OLG Fallsview at Niagara Falls has sold out (5,000 tickets.)

Life's easier for the conformist.
Not so much for the non conformist.
In my line of work, non conforming material usually gets scrapped. I think Morrissey is doing well considering that fact; though I'm not meaning to objectify him. Just trying to make a point.

I enjoy the duality of Morrissey and all things linked to him. Fascinating. I learn new things about him all the time.
He has become so terribly dull.

Maybe it is but as I mentioned to my wife and kids, I remember seeing the Smiths the first time and seeing posters around Manchester, it’s really nice to be seeing posters like this 38 years later.

BTW, he really doesn’t care about you or me.

Yes, i totally agree that it’s FANTASTIC to see posters for his shows up, everywhere and anywhere and wherever they appear. I LOVE it! But you were complaining about the fact that he shared that the show is sold out and how many tickets were sold. As to your last point, I suppose it’s true that i don’t limit my care for someone in this case based on a transactional notion of whether they care about me in return.

There are a lot of people who support him who don’t need or expect to be thanked.

There are a lot of people who support him who instead of expecting to be thanked are extremely happy for his wins, who are also extremely proud for all his achievements, who are extremely happy for him when his shows sell out, and who are appreciative without end, that year in and year out he’s still willing to still go traipsing around all over the place.
Great news that he’s sold out this venue. You’re right, he is getting a lot of love and appreciation on social media. I’ve also noticed that he seems to be gaining a lot of new fans, both young and old, which is interesting to me.

I don't see any other bands feeling the need to say how many tickets have been sold, it's really pathetic he feels the need to do this, he never did when the Smiths were active and he never did in the early days of his solo career. As I said, loads of artists sell out venues and say thank you for your support but don't mention the number of tickets sold.

His legs look so short now. He used to be tall and lanky.

Are you Johnny Ray? (who wants to know?)
Are you Slim Ray? (who wants to know?)
Are you Fay Wray?
Who wants to know? Who wants to know?
Are you stingray? (who wants to know?)
Are you Link Wray? (who wants to know?)
Are you Jimmy Ray?
Who wants to know? Who wants to know about me?

Maybe it’s because last time he said he was sold out there were pages in the thread trying to work out how many the venue held - he’s just saving us time!

This is a guy who used to sell 20k tickets in a day at arenas all over the world and never felt the need to say how many tickets were sold. Posting that he has sold 5000 tickets is sad to see, has he posted how many tickets he has sold at he other sold out venues on this tour?

There is nothing stopping him selling out larger venues other than himself, as I said earlier New Order sell out arenas all over the place even though they haven’t released a studio album since 2015, how come they can do this and Morrissey can’t?

thinking it would need to be a Morrissey & Marr tour to see those numbers again. A man that’s honest (or simply plain strange) in these times, will pay the price. And so, here we are.
Yes, if Morrissey would do a Smiths only tour, or even a Greatest Hits tour, he would be able to draw big crowds again. But as he won’t do that we should just be happy to be able to see him in these more intimate settings, which suit him better anyway.

I agree with your thoughts on intimate settings but he clearly doesn’t. BTW I think a lot of people expected the 40 years of Morrissey tour would be a greatest hits tour so I doubt many people would fall for that again.

I think he does actually. He always seems happier performing in these more intimate venues.

Yes, maybe casual fans thought it would be an actual GH-tour, but it would be completely out of character for Morrissey to ever do that.

Moz is trying to get a record deal* and has always felt marginalised. Even during his mega successful Your Arsenal tour the local TV station anchors were too dumb to do anything other than snigger on-air. Moz is too smart and perceptive for most people's tastes. Hence the vacuous DJs play the safe bland crap. So I don't blame Moz for blowing his own trumpet. Nobody else will.

*eh unless he has a record deal and we don't know yet or if he self-releases (snort smirk snigger).

It is but lots of bands post stuff like this and say thank you for your support at the end rather than the amount of tickets sold. There’s a real insecurity thing going on there.
But Moz has done that in the past, listing his favourite concerts from the tour. Him saying he sold 5K tickets doesn't bother me AND remember that the title is Niagara Falls, as in it has fallen to his onslaught attack and is now his. Moz could never turn his back on a clever chance to wrestle whimsically with words.

So why post he’s sold 5k tickets for one of his shows on this tour, some of the other sold out venues have a capacity of 1500, he hasn’t mentioned the number of tickets he’s sold there.

Yes he has posted his favourite gigs but has he ever posted how many tickets he’s sold for a gig before?
