I feel like Moz is very instinctive and reacts to the audience, atmosphere, and the way things feel on the night. If a tour starts well, there's a good chance he'll complete it. If it starts badly and he gets a sense that the venues aren't full, or he gets heckled, or gets a lukewarm reaction to the new material... there's a chance of walk-offs/cancellations. So with that in mind, I hope it starts well and the wheels don't come off.
Or he’s just a lazy get.

All depends on how much alcohol one has consumed ov a Saturday evening….
I will concede 😎😎

Baring in mind I’ve had to sit through
Strictly come 4cking dancing with my youngest, I’m in no mood to tittle tattle

I'm sure even Morrissey understands his career is on the line here. After the recent cancellations and other setbacks he really needs to do this tour. So my bet is that he will, although there might be a cancellation or two along the way.
The fact that he may still cancel some shows, just speaks volumes of the man. So weak.

Hopefully he will play them all but Little Rock is only half sold at the moment, I thought Atlantic City as well but that seems to have picked up since the ticket prices were dropped to $29 which is an absolute bargain for anyone around there.

$29?

What on earth is going on?

I didn't know we'd arrived here.

Other artists have seen their ticket prices treble in the last 10 years.

Now tickets to see Morrissey in 2024 are being sold for less than half of what I paid nearly a decade ago.

I'm going to take some time to digest that.

Not only is he going to play all these shows, he's going to be so on-form he's going to play extra secret shows on his rest days PLUS he's going to hang around at the merch booth to speak to fans and sign stuff at each show for an extra hour each night. ;)

Well, to be fair, sometimes there might even be a valid reason to cancel. But if Moz doesn't manage to do a vast majority of these gigs, who would ever book him ever again or pay to see him live?

Being a puss and cancelling on his fans is strong? Okay.

naw. Wouldn’t call it weak either. His reasons for canceling we don’t really know, obviously they vary, and may be for good reasons.

Who cares anyway. By this point, you don’t even need to be a fan to know Morrissey has the inclination to cancel last minute. So if people want to see him and deal with that? they should have back up plans, or not go at all. I’ve traveled and have been canceled on before, so I’m speaking and advising others from experience.

My ‘So strong’ comment was in regards to him
strangely caring, or wanting success, but not caring enough to do what other artists do when they cancel .. the hollow apologies and explanations, and the begging to be liked by the public. Yeah, you can say he shoots himself in the foot for not playing that game or even being reasonable in regards to what his fans may want, and we could vent … ‘ well he shouldn’t expect X, Y and Z if he doesn’t in return do X, Y and Z, etc’. that’s understandable, but futile. It’s Morrissey, it’s the whole package, trouble and all, love it or leave it.

That particular poster has taken the most preposterous thing Morrissey has ever said (and there is a lot of competition) as his motto, which kind of illuminates all his posts.

as long as it bothers you. That’s all that matters.

I agree with you. But hasn’t this been said before? And he still gets bookings.

Supply and demand.

He's let down too many people too many times. Some people who still listen to his music draw the line at paying for tickets, travel and accommodation only to run the risk of having him cancel on them again.

For many, Noel Gallagher's "and yet here I am" anecdote was the last straw.

Agree. And of course, a large portion of his fan base has grown older. So they will be less likely to travel for shows as they once have anyway.

Well, I don’t know about others, but I’d rather Morrissey cancel a show for whatever made up reason he wants to give, than have to see him up on stage obviously not wanting to be there.

I’ve seen many shows, and there have been the rare few where he’s been distracted or distant and going through the motions, imo, and it was a bit disheartening to see that, in comparison to shows where he’s giving his all and excited to be on stage.

You are ridiculous. No one cares what you do or think or if you plan for cancelation or you think other artists are insincere when they apologize. People plan to go to a show HE schedules and they expect him to be there and apologize if he isn't. If you can't understand why this is important, f*** off and stop repeating yourself over and over. No one wants your advice and no one should have to make back up plans because Morrissey can't drag his lazy spoiled ass out to the stage, or decides to leave it after a few songs. Just shut up already. You are in every damn thread, go away.

You are one of the people that is still complaining about a single cancelation that affected you once, 30+ years ago. Talk about not knowing what’s important to devote your energy to in life! :lbf:

There are PLENTY of people who are bored to TEARS listening to others whining INCESSANTLY about cancelations that are in the past, and then whining EVEN MORE incessantly about hypothetical future cancelations that have never even happened.

But the fact that you think you’re in a position to tell anyone here to “shut up”, and that you think anyone here would ever care about what you bark at them is really funny! 🤣

Time for a Smiths song
