And another, wish Morrissey would get a band that can play like this

I think that Morrissey will cancel every date after the US general election on Tuesday, November 5th, because many of citizens of the country will be too busy rioting depending on the outcome.

There could even be a full blown Civil War and/or Marshall Law enforcement or God knows what else. Morrissey will have to hide in an underground bunker if he can't flee the country before the whole shit house goes up in flames.

(I am mostly joking when I write these things but hey, you never know these days. Nothing would surprise me anymore.)

Well, to be fair, sometimes there might even be a valid reason to cancel. But if Moz doesn't manage to do a vast majority of these gigs, who would ever book him ever again or pay to see him live?
He gets no more grace, no benefit of the doubt, no more mulligans. At this point, if he has to cancel even once, he needs to retire, sit home.

Mozi does what Mozi wants, J Ray. I see him making music for the rest of his life, and playing shows literally wheeled out on his deathbed by nurses, hooked up to a heart monitor (which of course will be part of the rhythm section), and his voice will still sound impeccable.

You are probably not too far from the truth Ashley. His voice really is remarkable after all these years. It's like it's been hermetically sealed.

He’s not going to release it himself, ever. Within 10 minutes it would be in the Downloads section of this website, there’s no real money in it for him in a digital-only release. He needs CDs, cassettes, vinyl, coloured vinyl etc etc - all the bollocks that the completists will snap up - to make it worthwhile. He’s not going to do all of that himself.

These gigs just feel pointless. There’s no way all of them will take place.

But he can release physical Media via Band Camp - then he gets all the profits too.
I buy Vinyl records directly via Band Camp from artists & have it sent to me in Australia.
They often give you a digital download in FLAC too - tis pretty awesome & some will even sign the copies.

I am one of those completists - I like to buy every release of my favourite artist.
But I do not buy to collect so much, I buy to play the material - I am not a museum.

I mean yeah - he could just press up a couple of thousand 'Bonfire' LPs himself, and sell them exclusively at shows as 'tour exclusive editions', signed for $350 each, and make an absolute mint. But I think that, more than anything - even money - Morrissey is desperate for chart success and the ego validation that provides. He's obsessed with chart placings, and only a major label will give him a chance at a #1 record.
