Morrissey's worldview "I'm for plain text"

"Morrissey praises the Brexit referendum, defends Kevin Spacey and calls Berlin a "rape capital" because of its open borders. seriously?"

Whether the Briton Steven Patrick Morrissey, 58, a musician just Morrissey calls, now Genius is or Schrat, self-actor or choleric poet, will probably never settle final. Certainly the man from Manchester, who became famous in the eighties as a singer of pop band The Smiths, is a great eccentric of pop. Whether concert or interview, he maintains the pose of the diva. The meeting took place on the occasion of his new album "Low in High School" in Los Angeles; It was arranged at very short notice and then postponed several times, domination gestures want to be maintained. After all, Morrissey is ready to talk. However, the photographer is referred by one of his managers rude of the room: "Get out of my hotel!" The Polaroid photo was taken by the interviewer.

An interview with Juliane Liebert

SPIEGEL: Mr Morrissey, in your new song "Spent the Day in Bed", you recommend that you no longer see any news. A serious proposal?

Morrissey: Yes. People should stop doing so for their own sanity. You have to stop. The news is just social engineering, and it's about control, not information. There are no more messages. Only control.

SPIEGEL: That sounds like Trump's fake news, but you just spoke out against Trump at a concert.

Morrissey: Trump has received so much attention, especially when compared to other candidates - Bernie Sanders, for example. Although the media said he will not win, every day, all the headlines: Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump! The American media helped Trump, yes, they first created it. Whether they criticize him or laugh at him, he does not care, he just wants to see his picture and his name. The American media have shot themselves in the leg. Since he was in power, he has exhausted the world. He grabs after everything like a little child. He is not a leader. He is a vermin. A huge vermin.

SPIEGEL: Do you think that he will be re-elected?

"Millions of people have died for German identity"

Does he mean the millions slaughtered as a result of Germans trying to create a Jew free 1000 year Reich and "living space" in Eastern Europe?

The Mayor of Tel Aviv should tell Morrissey he can shove the city's key right up his rear cleavage.

Growing up, even if I did not agree with everything he said, his interviews were a refreshing change from the usual bland showbiz crap from bands like Duran Duran and Wham!

Nowadays, his interviews have all the thrilling controversy of a 5 year old child walking into their living room to discover the local vicar/priest has called for tea and starts shouting out words like "BUM!" "WILLIE!" "ARSE!" before being escorted out by its mother.

Dear A Man Escaped
Thank you so much for this quote

4kin brilliant and so plausible.
Worthy of one hundred merit marks, thank you once more.

BUM, WILLIE, ARSE ! ! ! Ha ha ha, oh Stevo nothing to answer for.

I'm the biggest critic of Morrissey and his political comments, but it was obvious to anyone who read the lyrics that it was an autobiographical;l song.

Even if he did sing Brexit at the end live, he's just doing what he normally does live, which is replace the written lyrics with alternative, spur of the moment rhymes, and ideas.

It's wishful thinking by Morrissey's newly minted alt-right fan base meant to influence the opposition.

Or maybe they're just trying to sabotage some confusingly anti-Trump "fag's" career.

It's like Libertarians who make exhaustive lists of so-called Libertarian thinkers who once mentioned Libertarianism in passing.

I suspect Brummie's, Benny's and Skinny's posts are actually coming from a social media troll farm in St Petersberg.

Morrissey is to the alt-right as Truman Capote was to the Swans. An amusing divertissement, but ultimately just a fag.

Get yourself a pair of high quality headphones and you will hear it :thumb: Last I am saying on it now :head-smack:

Pure poetry.

It's the ultimate form of propaganda: Create chaos in a group, and then feed on on the stragglers.

When chimps hunt monkeys, they first use a flusher. This chimp's job is to force the group to flee, while routers, and netters position themselves downfield and act as the trap for the ones caught in the open.

Wolves, and other animals use the same strategy.

For f***s sake,

this makes me regret pre-ordering the album. It is hard to face the reality that the man that I admired for many years has finally turned into a right-wing nut. I even find that I sympathize with Uncle Skinny's comments, whose hateful style has kept me from joining this site for many years (along with the other hateful trolls like btbb, and brummie boy etc.).

The only hope now is that this is only a phase and Morrissey will find his way out of it in a few years. Maybe we will look back on this time period then and see it as "Morrissey's Weird Right-Wing Phase"... While there's life, there's hope.

I am also a huge Bob Dylan fan. He had many of these weird phases in his career and just released one of his best albums in 2012 (Tempest). And his three Frank Sinatra cover albums recently have also been quite enjoyable. So I hope Morrissey's career will take a similar turn aswell.

Honestly, maybe Morrissey should turn to doing Frank Sinatra cover albums aswell. This would spare of us his anti-minority ideology and lyrical weaknesses and would put his amazing voice to a good use. Whatever happens, something has to change. I'm not going watch Morrissey drifting further into a extreme right position in the following years. I can't bear this any longer.

I'm confused, are we now saying the many sexual attacks in Cologne one New Year's Eve, reportedly by immigrants, did not actually happen after all? No one believes most Muslims are terrorists or rapists but there is a problem in many areas of the UK too.

No but it’s a fuzzier picture than many anti immigration believiera often make it out to be. It is an extreme over reaction exaggeration though. Rape captitol of the world it is absolutely factually not

Sweden too.

You have a greater chance of being raped, or killed by your naturally born neighbor than by an immigrant.

No one's ignoring rapes by immigrants. They're just not treating it as a form of panic for political purposes. Bad people break laws. We p[prosecute them.

Let me guess, you think Sharia Law is going to replace common law?

f***ing people...

I think his words are extremely problematic. I was in Dusseldorf this summer and noticed the efforts being made to help Syrian refugees settle in. Claiming that 'real Germans' are 'historic Germans' can only have one logical interpretation: New Germans aren't 'real Germans'. Germany is a proposition nation. So is England. They are not 'historic blood-line cultures'. It is very challenging to offer a view that suggests the only 'real Germans' are those who exhibit the traditional historic cultural motifs of Germany.

I googled 'Berlin rape capital' and the top three news stories related to a donkey rape. Perhaps that's why he's so upset.

I don't think it's necessarily real Germans vs fake Germans. I think it's just that he has seen and grown up with a German culture that he liked, and is seeing people moving in and changing the culture, making all culture one big homogeneous thing. Now everyone feels that to a degree imo, but the thing is most of us realise that that doesn't matter because refugees need our help, and so it is stupid and, yes, problematic to suggest we should put culture ahead of people's lives.

It almost makes you hope that Morrissey is like the girlfriend who adopts all of her boyfriend's interests out of a sense of loyalty to him.

For example: Morrissey suddenly had an interest in boxing while dating Jake, and even mentioned soccer, and wore soccer t-shirts. He then admitted he couldn't care less about football, and never mentioned boxing again.

Maybe Damon is influencing his xenophobic views, and when they break up, he will go mute on the subject.

Ah, who the hell am I kidding. The man's a crackpot.

The very definition of a culture is a homogeneous thing. What you are lamenting is the change. It's inevitable.

No culture that exists today is the same as it was a thousand years ago or even a hundred years ago. Even religions are different than what was previously supported.

I feel your pain ! I feel your shame ! You're not to blame !
Congratulations on the beginning of your journey. This is a huge step you've made, well done and fingers crossed you become an inspiration to other members of the cult.
Good luck in the future.

Not at all, Sharia Law is a long way off. But my worry is the 23,000 potential jihadis in the UK and the child grooming case in Rotherham which is about 8 mile away from me, there was the Rochdale case too.

Maybe I am as mixed up as Morrissey as I voted for Corbyn but I still think Farage speaks at least some sense at times. To deny there is a problem is to be a lefty for the sake of being a lefty.

oh f*** off you uptight twat. when I was 14 I was perfectly capable of deciding who touched my cock. As Anthony Rapp clearly was - he left the apartment when Spacey came on to him. Why did he and his 17 year old friend accept an invite to Spacey's apartment? And he then left. Spacey didnt hit him or stop him leaving. How is that sexual assault? A clumsy and pathetic old man? yes. Sexual assault? oh come on. Victorian values are clearly back in vogue.

As far as I can tell, grooming a child for sexual activity has a long legal history of being prohibited in the United States. Kevin Spacey was definitely grooming Anthony Rapp. It doesn't have to fit the definition of a serious 'sexual assault' to be a crime and punished accordingly. Time will tell if Spacey faces prosecution in the US. He is currently being investigated regarding allegations of sexual assault in the UK.

Whilst you may have regarded yourself as 'perfectly capable' of deciding whether or not an adult could touch your genitalia at 14, the law clearly disagrees. You might want to think about how condoning and tolerating a 'grooming culture' contributes to 'rape culture'. Victorian values? You mean when there were thousands of child prostitutes on the streets of London?
