Earlier this year I saw Duran Duran perform here in a pouring rain and a f***ing hail storm. The weather was so bad that in fact I hoped the gig would be cancelled -- but since I had bought a ticket, I put on a raincoat and wellies and went. The stage was so slippery that Simon Le Bon fell down one time and apologized he couldn't do his usual dance routine. At point he addressed the audience: "You do know, that the gigs with the worst possible weather turn out to be the best ones".

So yes, different bands have different approaches to unfortunate weather. But people who react like Morrissey shouldn't book outdoor gigs.
They are such fun live, people were saying they played in a hurricane recently, was that the show?

In in

seriously, when do people become patient again and await the official statement before they start whining and moaning online?! Get a f***ing life, ffs! The man clearly had throat problems. Should he continue because “you” are more important than his well being and the risk of having to cancel a tour after 2 (technically 1,5😄😉) nights?

And yeah I know some people traveled and apent I don’t know how much money but we (still) live in a free world, you don’t have to do that, it was your own choice.
No, no. Whine first, then ask questions later.

Meteorology forecasts are there to help you see the unforeseen circumstances. Perhaps the sheer optimism for choosing a hillside amphitheater in November can be called an unforeseen circumstance.

It's very simple - if singing is the talent that makes you a living and pays the rent, wouldn't you treat your voice as something valuable that needs looking after? Better cutting one show after half an hour, than cancelling 13 shows because you have lost your voice.
Enough with the logic.

If only Morrissey did everything we wanted him to and the way we wanted him to do it. God it'd be so great wouldn't it? Has any other artist ever cancelled a show before or is it just Morrissey? Asking for a friend.

"A view to a kill" was an exciting song, from a band that was ready to face any thunderstorm.

I doubt many artists have cancelled 318 shows (for various reasons) like Morrissey has

I do think their approach to live shows is really different than Morrissey's.

This was in Helsinki in June. We don't really have hurricanes here in Finland, so I don't know if people are talking about that gig, but the weather was truly abysmal.
I am glad you made it throught it all, I've only had one like that, outdoor lawn seats, no cover and pouring rain. We just danced and drank a lot. I think maybe the gig here was in California and more recent.

In recent years, I saw Heaven 17 (pure karaoke act) and Spandau Ballet (vain, quarreling peacocks) live and every 80s nostalgia act still has its justification for us old farts. Yes, sure, the new material is fantastic (as long as it reminds of the past). It's all the same.

Cuz I am a weak ass biotch who cannot withstand the harsh southern California autumns.

Everyone likes a working heater when they are cold.
