Voice is amazing still but his charisma has left him years ago. He used to be in my opinion, the most charismatic front man I've ever seen, right there with Mick Jagger but man, he barely moves now and he isn't even that old.
His moves are subtler than Jagger's.

And, his moves are more meaningful than Jagger's, who seems like a machine.

All I can say is the two things are not mutually exclusive.
Well, it sounds like you must be in the know, more so than the average solo-er.

Perhaps you know Morrissey personally. Or, perhaps you want to give the impression that you do.

In my opinion, this band is phenomenal. They sound energetic, are in sync and look quite sexy altogether supporting the boss. They make M seem more youthful.

I, of course, am a nobody to Morrissey. He doesn't know me from a store bought orange bundt cake.

As much as it pains me to say it, but you’re right. Here’s why - Jesse joined in 2004 and became a main staple in 2009 when Alain was replaced, er, I mean ill. Because of this, the music has gone downhill and will continue to go downhill because Jesse has brainwashed Morrissey and Moz can’t see the forest for the trees. Now both Boz and Alain are gone and I doubt either one will be back. So there goes the two greatest songwriters Morrissey has worked with. Alain has won awards and has written songs for some of the most popular and well respected people in music. What the hell does he need someone like Jesse Tobias, who has accomplished nothing, telling him how it’s gonna be done in the Morrissey camp? It’s a f***ing joke.

Tech issues with the guitarist tonight? 🙄

God. I never thought I’d feel this way.
I think you are wrong
1st BB and AW are not the best song writers Mozzy has worked with
Johnny Marr is always going to be number one.
I think Stephen Street and Vinny Riley are better song writers than BB and AW.
That is not to have a pop at both of them . As a few have pointed out it was ALWAYS Mozzy carrying BB and AW not the other way around and they need him much more than he needs them. Even now. Not sure who said AW and BB were a laughing stock in the UK music press, in the 90s but they were right

Mozzy could have worked with Richard Hawley rather than BB and AW, It's such a shame he didn't go with Richard.
I'm no fan of Jesse and I have heard some stuff about him, that makes me think he is a nasty person but he isn't as bad as people say as a song writer
I Thought You Were Dead, River Clean, Without Music The World and All You Need Is Me are all good songs. They are as good as any song on Southpaw Grammar.
This new band Mozzy has ain't bad either

Central post re: gig.

This is Morrissey listening very, very close and with a critical ear to this guitarist (Karmin, Karmela - I don’t know her name) and…he doesn’t look exactly pleased to me. It’s the little things you notice.

True story, there's a few duds on Southpaw and it only has 8 tracks at that. And Southpaw is probably better than Maladjusted and Kill Uncle.
It's subjective honey pie.
But to be me Maladjusted and kill uncle are better than Southpaw. They have better lyrics than SG and much better lyrics than anything in she last 15 years
As singer Mozzy is great, as a lyric man he hasn't been up to snuff for year's. Like 20 years. I agree Moz was the best front man, up to age 40 .Then most of his magic left
As for that working class comment. The “working class “ aren't one thing
I know lots of Working class Smiths Mozzy fans who stopper being a fan of his

Maybe more than some, definitely less than others.
And, nope and nope. Not my style. Just a longtime fan that likes to share info here, learn and partake in civil discussion. Been fortunate to attend some after-show gatherings and have had the opportunity to meet him… even had to step over his legs once as he sat on the floor to get to my friends lol, but chose not to. How’s it go… “Never meet the people you admire (or look up to), you'll be disappointed.” 😉

I'd bet he likes your face.

Why are you so sure that this isn't the band he wants backing him? He seems quite happy with them.
Exactly
I'm sure Mozzy wouldnt have kept AW around much longer, anyway Especially as AWs mate keeps coming on here.
I don't mean to sound rude, but AW and his mate arent a mainline to Mozzys world. In some ways they are no closer than the rest of us. Same with the person who said they are close to the band
Mozzy keeps most of the band on a arms length basis. Same with all of the fans on the guest list. Mozzy himself is a mam apart
Give this new band a chance

Darren, I don't expect any details but would you know why Morrissey has insisted on hanging onto Jesse for so long?

I really feel that Tobias has done nothing to enhance nor sustain Morrissey's musical career (from compositions to guitar playing). If anything, Jesse has greatly detracted from Morrissey's music in the studio and very much on stage.

Why are we stuck with him? Have you ever heard rumors about their relationship? Maybe you can't say publicly but are there "things" we don't know about? Is there an inside story to Jesse and Morrissey?

Hi. Morrissey, Boz, and Alain worked closely as a unit. Moz needed their support as much as they needed him because Moz had to have a band behind him. There is a balance. There has to be.

I agree he has worked with some amazing songwriters. I said two of the greatest (meaning of all the greats) and they are the most prolific. Johnny was good in his times with the Smiths, but for me, he isn’t that important as Morrissey’s solo career means much more to me.

There is no comparison of any of those songs to Southpaw Grammar. End of.

I am happy you feel enthusiastic. Morrissey needs that. Keep it up.

By the way, “Mozzy” is nauseating. Moz or Morrissey will do. Thanks.
