The attack on The Strip of an identifiable Morrissey fan reminds me of a man sitting beside me on the bus about a month ago who thought I was insulting him when I asked him if he’d heard Morrissey’s song I’m Not A Man, and he was verbally abusive to me ad nauseum after telling me not to talk to him. Another man at the opposite side of the bus eventually piped up and told the abusive guy to shut up, and the abusive guy shouted that he knew the other guy was gay, to which the kind guy answered “I’m gay?”. At one point the abusive guy stood up and rushed over to stand ready to fight the kind guy, and the kind guy stayed seated, but observant and ready to defend himself if need be. I tucked my sticky notes back into my pouch and zipped it shut in preparation for a potential dust up. The abusive guy went back to his seat beside me. His vibe was aggressively disrespectful and self righteous in choice of words, verbosity, tone of voice, and body language. My adrenaline was going, as I waited to approach my bus stop. As we drew near to the stop, I went to the kind man and said “I only told him that I like Morrissey’s song I’m Not A Man.”, gave him a tiny pink sticky note with Morrissey written on it, and pointed to my Morrissey t-shirt and said ‘Morrissey’, to which he responded with the rock and roll hand sign. I signed back at him and then took my leave, as the body language of the two guys told me they were still engaged in arguing. The kind guy was much more physically and mentally solid than the mean guy, so I wasn’t very worried about the kind guy being able to disengage and tend to his business in one piece.

It's difficult to know how different people will react to things. Thankfully it sounds like it all ended okay for everyone.

I feel for the fan on the strip, I really do. Just good to hear they are okay.

It's quite a ridiculous and rather strange dynamic when wearing a Morrissey shirt in public results in incidents like this.

He's in great voice, the band alas is just okay. At least he is actually SHOWING UP. Always a rare victory for those daring souls who purchase tickets to a Morrissey concert. I wish he'd spring some "deep cuts" that he's never performed live. Imagine hearing "I Don't Mind if You Forget Me" or "Found, Found, Found"- Who thinks BOT will be released in 2024?? I don't see it happening

How can a person have such an incredible physical beauty?

I am 28 years old and I have never seen anything more beautiful than this man.
You've moved the top of my list of really-being-Morrissey-on-here. May well be good looking but why spend the equivalent of 10 weeks of my planet-saving food budget on a scarf? Disappointing. (Though it could have been a gift he received, or could have decided to buy something with the sole purpose of giving it to a fan, let's hope).

I haven't been through all the comments to know if this might have been already been brought up: in light of the Linder post of a short time back...is he singing this to/about her?

Doesn't sound right, I can't imagine anyone targeting someone for wearing a Moz shirt, especially because they think he's gay? Maybe because they think he's racist! Sounds more like a random attack to me.

I imagine he bought it for himself. He'll happily spent 8 grand on a watch.

Is it really a BAND anymore you think? I don't get the vibe I did from just a couple of years back
Morrissey describes his relationship with his band as a personal one: “The musicians are handpicked, really. They are not just anybody who turns up to play. […] The point is I couldn’t simply play with session musicians or people whom I didn’t like”

I thought that was a great interview. ZL seemed to pitch it just right. I always liked his turbocharged enthusiasm and it seemed M couldn't resist it either.
