Morrissey Central "'UMM, MORRISSEY JUST ISN’T DIVERSE ENOUGH FOR OUR LABEL …" (December 6, 2024)

More like laughing at his every incompetent move.
He can't let it go. He is obsessed with Morrissey. For the few laughs he gets he's committing an awful lot of his life to this. He also used to tell us daily that he was stopping Nazis.

It's a pathetic existence to be obsessed with a singer in a way that looks more like a girl he can't get over.

This is what it boils down to. He’s a niche artist, but won’t accept it. He should be on a small label that specialises in legacy artists, but he thinks he’s f***ing Beyoncé. Having never been mainstream in his life, he thinks he should be now as a pensioner.

100% this

That may be true, but I don't think @gashonthenail was using the term to identify Morrissey as a sex offender or a racist. gash sees Morrissey as a righteous anti-woke rebel daring to speak truth to power on behalf of the British working class in his view that is why the media and the record labels are avoiding him.
I think you are probably right, but I also think people sometimes say "righteous anti-woke rebel daring to speak truth to power on behalf of the British working class" when one word will do.

Add Suede to the list of middle aged white men who can get record deals, they have a new album coming out soon. Autofiction was on BMG, so it's obviously not about diversity, it's about not being a twat.

Added to that BMG dropped Morrissey in Nov 2020 with Morrissey claiming the new exec wanted more diversity, yet they signed Johnny Marr the following August.

In his rant on MC he points out album positions but doesn’t seem to understand that chart positions mean nothing to record companies, its all about volume of sales to them.

I forgot about Johnny being signed, and agreed, it's about the bottom line, but with Morrissey it might be a bit more of is the small amount of money he will make worth all the drama that comes with him.
I just looked at the BMG site, plenty of old white men and legacy acts, he'd fit right in.

That’s gotta sting, from his viewpoint, being dropped for Johnny. Probably a motivating factor in wanting a major label deal, he wants parity.

I wonder if this will appear at the next concert backdrop.

He is not the only one either. There are literally dozens of his ilk here now, with the same kind of obsessive behaviour. But no one beats the original :)

This seems like a non sequitur. Are there no middle aged white male artists signed to major record labels? If that is the case, then Morrissey isn't being "gagged" for his views, he's being snubbed for his age and complexion.

The clip demonstrates little other than that there are young people around the world who cover songs from the 80s and 90s. Suedehead is not exactly God or Like a Rolling Stone when it comes to "sincerity and truth." I'm sure somewhere in Brazil there's someone covering a Madonna song.
but would they be showing the same passion as these shirtless boys, nahhh.

Has he done whinging yet? He's literally saying foreign folk like my stuff (from years ago) so give me a record deal so I don't have to spend my own money.

Conveniently forgetting that he urged people to vote for an anti-foreigner party, and railed against non-English speaking people in London.

He's a f***ing hypocrite, and he is, and always has been, motivated by one thing - his own money.
the people who liked this is like a whos who of the haters on here, the same people who went into hiding for three weeks when he was completing show after show, you are the biggest hypocrite on here i remember you telling a person on here to speak english when english wasnt their first language.

11 years of education and thats your best effort at a post on here, wasnt even funny the first time.
tell us a joke so we can see your sense of humour.

Mildly curious that my obsession with music began with a Manchester band spitting feathers because their label—which they voluntarily committed to—wouldn’t kick them off their roster.

Do I die ‘listening’ to Morrissey moaning that an institution he loathes won’t throw shackles on him? I’ve only got three decades left, and it’s seeming increasingly on the cards.

If he was really so upset with the lack of a good record deal, then get a better band and better writing partners. You don't hang your hat on freakin' Jesse Tobias.
It’s not about music or performance any more, it’s about “loyalty”, which really means “tolerating bullshit”. Which is why Jesse seems to be on stage still, while nearly all past band members have walked away from Morrissey.
