Carmen mentioning some new information?
Joe Chiccarelli at the helm?

The ’board she had with her for the interview was set up for her work with Morrissey, with whom she is recording an album.
“With Morrissey, I’m using a CV30 and a Supro. I used a lot of Supro on the Bones UK record.

There is also that solo album in progress: “Coming out in a few years, or whenever I’m ready.” And while working with Morrissey, she’s filling the giant shoes of not only Johnny Marr but also Morrissey alumni Jesse Tobias and Alain Whyte – while maintaining the same philosophy that propels Soft.
As she says of her performance on a new Morrissey song: “There’s a solo with this bum note. I played it over and over to make people believe that I did it on purpose. But I didn’t go and change it. I don’t want to change mistakes
anymore. That humanity – I miss it on records. So I want to keep it in there. I’m learning a lot, doing a record with Morrissey and Joe Chiccarelli, who’s an incredible producer. Again, just plenty of time to learn a bunch of things that I didn’t know before. Even just the way he writes in his melodies.”

Regards,
FWD.

If a new album is being recorded, that's fantastic news to me. I believe they all will be released sooner or later. Go on Morrissey!

Too many to mention. Off the top of my head, I think Stephen Street is one of the best and most tasteful but probably too expensive, hence the reason he is no longer an option. Strange, because Morrissey had to have paid top dollar for the well regarded Steve Lillywhite.

I can't recall if it was on a radio interview or elsewhere but when Alain was back in the fold, he apparently tried to convince Morrissey to work with Street again. Given that "The Severed Alliance, Mk II" had mended fence several years ago, it was not completely out of the realm of possibility. But nothing came of it.

She's incoherent and clueless, totally contradictory several times: is it live or click track? Technology or feel?

These interviews delineate all that's fcukd in 'modern music'- full of expert careerists who are chasing chimeras of authenticity.

As for Billy Baldhead Corgan: what I think he's trying to describe is the Benny-Bjorn Max Martin-Roxette 'don't bore us, get to the chorus' songwriter mode...but he's an ineloquent moron...like Morrissey...ffs...'Melancholic Bollocks And The Death Metal Angel' was a grind of a double album, ya numpty!

Saw Carmen at the Jeff Beck gig at Brum Symphony Hall with Johnny Depp...she plays guitar like she's carrying a Ming-in vase between her legs...like it's a Grade 5 piano exam...technically expert but totally boring guitarist...she's a session musician...end of...

next Morrissey album will be absolute pants if she's in the fcukin engine room...strewth...women on a warship as Mick Jagger said...

has that mad aul biddy downvoted this comment yet?...Malarkey?...u ok, hon?

That was a great read. Carmen has mastered her skills.

What struck me was how all those she mentions recently working with and acting as advisors of one kind or another are men. Are there so few female producers? I believe Sinéad O' Connor was producing her own music from early days. Something for Carmen and her mates to rectify soon. Something that Lori Anderson explores in her new album - https://www.spin.com/2024/08/i-do-love-a-doomed-quest-were-going-down-with-laurie-anderson/

Carmen's valuing Morrissey's input on songwriting; the kind of collaboration that could be good for both Morrissey and mentored parties going forward. Wishing all beings peace, light and happiness :rainbow:

think I remember something like that, just not sure if he got the cover.

Now the question is, her playing on the new album, is it a co-write? Guess that would have been mentioned. And i’m sure those will come soon enough. As I said, she rocks and Jesse too! But not only rocks, but is solid as one, true by Moz’s side all these years, where others just come and go.

Gotta lotta wonderment as to what's
happenin' with this new stuff.
Moz musta been interested in workin'
with Carmen cause of her Jeff Beck
connection.
Maybe somethin' like a Black Cloud.
That was interestin' what she said about
showin' up to a studio and just usin' whatever gear they had layin' around.
Maybe it'll be some improvised stuff.
I'm always interested in how Moz can
make music with so many different
songwriters and still always make it
sound like him.
I think the melody comes from his lyrics
and then they shape the music from there.

Annie Clark/ St. Vincent is a female producer I could think of.
Course she's mainly an artist.

Is Morrissey abandoning BOT and WMTWD in favor of this new cooperation?
He will surely have enough songs in thevaults for 4 different deluxe editions then. Or for deluxe editions of earlier albums.

Other than convincing M to reintroduce a few old classics in the live setting, I'm not sure Alain had a large sway in his second go around in the band. It just wasn't the same dynamic as it was before, and with Jesse being M's right-hand man it makes you wonder how much other stuff may have gotten vetoed in the process (personnel suggestions, WMTWD album track selection, etc).

Everyone is talking about a third album…Maybe they are making new takes for BOT and WMTWD because in Jesse’s macabros plan of take off the man to Alain’s Guitars and Gustavo’s Keys in the last record. Little time ago he posted something like “we are making better than 25 years Morrissey’s carrer”

I can't think of a better option... it's such a shame nothing came of it.

He should debut the songs from all the albums live then do an online poll asking the fans which ones should make an album and it’s b-sides.

I love women, they are great at everything except; 1. basketball 2. comedy 3. rock and roll.

It did cross my mind that she was just adding new parts/replacing Alain's guitars.

When I think of female producers I think immediately of Cate Le Bon. She's also mainly an artist. I love her music (ALL of her albums are golden precious to me), she's in my top 5 favorite singer/musician/song writers, and I love the music she's produced for other people, though it's only been few and they're not as well-known: Deerhunter, H Hawkline(❤️also in my top 5), Kurt Vile, Wilco. I love her vibe she adds to the music -- her touch.

I don't see her ever ever ever working with Morrissey, but it's fun for me to imagine what it would sound like and what she'd bring to the table.

I was already pretty sure I didn't want to see and remember Morrissey in his current incarnation, this really sealed the deal for me. There is absolutely no way I would pay to see him live with her in the band. She represents everything I cannot stand about so called "modern," poser, effects driven, alt music. Inauthentic and soulless. I'm not sure I really need to hear the new stuff either.

The untouchable underrated producer Sylvia Massy, here’s some footage of her recording piano with Tool ….

Ryan, doing it this way, you may end up with an album of only 5-6 songs and one single with a dozen b sides!

Thanks for the heads-up. She's very good. I hadn't heard of her. Apparently, she's from Wales. I think she and Morrissey would overlap artistically quite a bit. I'm just listening to her song, Remembering Me
