The latest episode of the Morrissey and Wine podcast features an interview with Boz Boorer. He talks to Chris and George about Moz's "abysmal" treatment in the media, shares the songwriting process and reminisces about his on-stage drag persona Gaynor Tension, all while enjoying a crisp Portuguese beer. He also gives us an insight into his new album, Morrissey Reimagined, which is available now on Bandcamp.

George's grandma Nanny Val makes a return, this time reacting to 'Spent The Day In Bed', the trivia quiz is back and we analyse the lyrics of three songs where Boz has played an important role: 'Oboe Concerto', 'Speedway' and 'Rebels Without Applause'.

For the first time, you can now watch Morrissey and Wine on YouTube. But if you prefer your podcasts the old-fashioned way, we're still on Apple, Spotify and all major platforms.

very nice. So glad Boz called Mozipedia ‘rubbish’, people do quote it here on solo as if it was gospel truth. No surprise that Boz said he was ‘led’:lbf: to go onstage as Gaynor Tension, it not initially being his idea. Some good questions about his role in the band, and the song writing bits. Though, I don’t think it’s entirely true that Morrissey has never been given the chance to defend or explain himself in or to the press. I just think he hasn’t because he may feel that it’s pointless, that whatever he says will somehow be spun and used against him.

You can ask Alain to come on, maybe with the next thing he has to promote. Though having Linder or (more likely) James Maker on, would be extremely interesting.

Unless the ghastly use of Autotune in 'Rebels Without Applause' is brought up, I'm not listening.

(Oh, who am I kidding; I like these two. Can they produce more than one episode a month though? I'll supply the extra bottle if that's the issue.)

yeah intervieuw comng from 3 years or more, known for years Boz and his Lady Lynn have London wine boutique annd records Boz gives his 'OK' , replaced by Carmen Vanderberg certainly did not talk that Morrissey positive, a bit mellow would be suit him...the rubbish about Oasis and Marr refused to agree with a new Sniths compilation album[in 2024][it's added 3 years later]

give me cup cup-a soup. onion taste

Thanks for the juicy preview. We're getting close to the Holy Grail here 👨‍🎤

if the boys check the comments on here, could be a bit louder, the boy with black t-shirt has a very soft voice, its listenable but just needs a bit more volume, good video and good little chat with boz.

Cool to know Moz gave Boz the musical freedom to write whatever kind of music he wanted. Now I know how we ended up with stuff like "Lover-To-Be" in those later years haha

or Teachers Are AfraidOTP in the earlier years. I wish they asked him for more details about the songs. It seemed Boz was surprised the interview ended that quickly.

‘Kin ‘ell sounded like these lads were interviewing him for a job!

Interviewers call it a time-out. At least he doesn't disagree.
What I find strange is that Morrissey made no acknowledgment via Central or at a gig that Boz was stepping down from his role. Especially after he had been with him for so long. No "Boz is having a well earned rest/retirement, thank you Boz".

It suggests to me that Morrissey was pissed off at him for quitting, if indeed it was Boz's decision to quit. He seems quite cagey about it in this interview and to my knowledge has never elaborated on why he is no longer playing for Morrissey, simply that he isn't.

And also, that Moz hasn't said a *peep* about Morrissey Reimagined, when he posts on Central about random Youtube covers is.... startling
