Carmen mentioning some new information?
Joe Chiccarelli at the helm?

The ’board she had with her for the interview was set up for her work with Morrissey, with whom she is recording an album.
“With Morrissey, I’m using a CV30 and a Supro. I used a lot of Supro on the Bones UK record.

There is also that solo album in progress: “Coming out in a few years, or whenever I’m ready.” And while working with Morrissey, she’s filling the giant shoes of not only Johnny Marr but also Morrissey alumni Jesse Tobias and Alain Whyte – while maintaining the same philosophy that propels Soft.
As she says of her performance on a new Morrissey song: “There’s a solo with this bum note. I played it over and over to make people believe that I did it on purpose. But I didn’t go and change it. I don’t want to change mistakes
anymore. That humanity – I miss it on records. So I want to keep it in there. I’m learning a lot, doing a record with Morrissey and Joe Chiccarelli, who’s an incredible producer. Again, just plenty of time to learn a bunch of things that I didn’t know before. Even just the way he writes in his melodies.”

Regards,
FWD.

I can't believe he is recording another album  and having her play on it

He’d be better off releasing them as one single 3-disc release with a couple of singles from each, with unreleased b-sides. And Rainbow Valley.

Total Guitar magazine download if so inclined.

He’d be better off having someone sift through all the songs and release the 12 best ones as an album, and keep the other songs for b-sides and deluxe editions.

"Latest record project Vol 3"
Like the kindred spirit van Morrison.
Uncle Joe @ the helm again. Sigh!

Exactly this. There's a chance here to try (at least) to make a comeback with a genuinely excellent album by picking the best songs from each.

(Although knowing our Moz, he'd put "Notre Dame" as the first track...)

That’s why someone else should do it. Someone who can objectively say which songs are good and which ones are shit.

Agree, it would be great to finally hear these someday. But there’s something I like about Morrissey not giving a flying fuuck if these records never see the light of day and just using his own money to do what he loves doing, what he needs to do, regardless.

Yep, that's called bein' an artist.

"They do not understand
the urgency of life".

Great. I can't wait to see Morrissey to tour again so he can play another load of songs that people can't listen to except via recordings of the tour uploaded onto YouTube.

Great that there appears to be a new album in the works, but when are any of these records ever going to be heard? We were told that good news about BoT was finally within our grasp... almost 3 months ago! Soon we'll get the usual 'NEW MORRISSEY ALBUM' post on Central, with 'Morrissey considers this to be the best work of his entire career... Morrissey is without a record deal so no release date can be given at this time...' I feel sorry for Joe Chiccarelli, he puts up with Morrissey's diva antics and produces albums which are either overshadowed by scandal or never see the light of day at all!
Don't feel sorry for Joe, he's getting paid regardless. It's probably a fun project for him, it doesn't matter if it gets released or not as Moz pays him upfront.

It doesn't strike me as odd he's recording. Prince recorded because the inspiration was there continuously, he likes recording, the band enjoy writing for him so why not.

I understand the comments saying that it's pointless as he already has two unreleased but if he's enjoying it then why not? I think the mistake would be announcing it however, that's when it gets a bit ludicrous.

I'm against a 3 cd set, Bonfire deserves to live and breath, it might just be his best album yet. Without Music has a different vibe and feeling from what we've heard and arguably will have a different production style so it'd be weird for them to be combined.

Just do a King Gizzard and release all 3 albums at various points over 12 months. Except if that was King Gizzard it would be 12 albums over 3 months

I like Carmen. She has a unique style and adds a bit of an edge to Morrissey's band. She is technically very good although she admits she will occasionally hit a wrong note. She does the same thing Jimmy Page does - play the wrong note twice so everyone thinks it was intentional. I'm excited to hear the new recordings. I have a feeling 2025 will be a big year for Morrissey!!

This is what - the 6th Morrissey album produced by Joe Chiccarelli? Makes the 3 with Steve Lillywhite look like a mere passing fancy.

I get the comfort in working with a familiar pair of hands, but maybe someone new to shake things up is required at this point?
