Thomas Frederick Substack Collection (July 1, 2024 -> current)

Fascinating. Not seen the film Morrissey lifts the words from, and kind of want to watch it now. So strange to find that out after nearly four decades, really changes the texture of the Cemetry Gates. The length of time it took to uncover (how did that happen, just a random viewing of the film?) does make his lines about plagiarism all the more funny, cos he was clearly taking the piss, planting the words to see who got it...eventually. Who the hell else would quote stuff like that? Probably a bedsit VHS he owned, or maybe he taped the film off the telly, and watched it too many times. Laughing.

Licorice Factory Worker As Cultural Icon / Morrissey's infatuation with Vivian 'Viv' Nicholson

Fascinating, thanks. ⭐

You say, "While it is not known what exactly led to Morrissey’s falling out with Viv" - after quoting the reason from her!

"someone told me lots of things he was doing about me. I went to a solicitor, and as it turns out it was the wrong guy! So we kinda fell out, and that was awful."

I imagine you get wrongly accused, then alarmed, then distrustful, and you just turn away to all the other many demands of stardom?

I appreciate your feedback. I am not above error. I wrote what I did with regards to Morrissey no longer associating with Viv as her answer to the question was to state that Mozz is "a moody prat", which is something less than a definitive answer to the question IMHO. Viv appears (at least to me) to be providing a default answer as she does not know exactly what occurred (other than that Mozz stopped talking to her). I would add that Viv chose her response wisely...Mozz has a reputation for this sort of thing and true to himself he seldom provides his reason(s) for "excommunicating" someone in his circle. To put the whole matter another way; Viv has weighed in on the question; however, Morrissey has not, so we can only surmise as to why he decided to cut Viv off. I hope this wordy response explains why I wrote what I did.

Cheers!

Heavy is new to me. Some fancy sleuthing there! :tiphat:

Was it also you who made a video early this year, with quite dramatic real-life footage, for Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me? -

Excellent! We're spoilt, with the talent round here

'Make War Not Love'

The story behind the iconic cover art of the Smiths' Meat Is Murder Studio Album

The angle on helmet graffiti is really illuminating, and sadly, so topical. Interesting how many films Morrissey drew inspiration from were critically acclaimed before being more or less cancelled. What are the odds? 🤯
