Morrissey Central "NOVEMBER USA" (August 12, 2024)

NOVEMBER USA

Morrissey would like it to be known that contrary to statements used by various ticket outlets/events calendars/venues, Morrissey has absolutely no say in concert ticket prices, and is not apprised of ticket regulations/rules. Neither is Morrissey consulted on any form of 'special tickets'.
Good luck!

Your reasoning is ridiculous. People who went to the Vegas shows were pretty upset that they had to stand in the queue while select people were allowed to put their name on a list and leave for hours and then come back and go to the front of the line and get in first.
Not taking sides, just my experience: In Vegas, I had the opportunity to get my name placed on the list. I had tickets for the two July shows. I arrived Thursday night and having never been to Vegas before, I was happily overwhelmed with the sites and exploring all that Mandalay Bay had to offer. After dinner, I was in the casino and noticed a group of people camping out in front of the House of Blues. They looked like they were planning on staying there overnight for the Friday show line. On Friday morning, I went to wander some more and needed coffee. The Morrissey line was gone, but many of the same people were hanging out at the Starbucks and in front of the HOB. They were scattered about and fun to talk to. I didn't stay long, but saw them again later in the afternoon when I was going to the indoor mall escalator. At that point, there was a big commotion and a woman was carrying a clipboard and taking names down. I approached her and saw that she was assigning line numbers for that night's show. She asked me my name and I told her that I had a seat ticket for that night's show, but GA for Saturday night's. She said that I should come back around that same time on Saturday to get on that show's list.
I got the impression that HOB didn't want so many people camping out, but appreciated their loyalty. It would've been helpful, of course, to have prior knowledge that such a list would be created each afternoon. Staff was also in need of space outside HOB to set up tables and displays for the merchandise sales later that evening. BTW, I didn't get on the Saturday night early GA list. There was just so much to do in Vegas on a short trip and the timing didn't work out. When I did get in line after dinner, it was a long wait and I started at the Tattoo Shop. By the time I got in, I was about seven people deep from the stage. No complaints, I was thrilled and met so many incredible people. Morrissey was supreme.

And yet he seems to think he DOES have a say in what foods a venue which he does not own can serve. Odd how he's so powerful in one area, and so weak in another.

Very good point. I think what he might mean is that he is not interested in the ticket prices and will not interfere with what prices are set as long as he gets his paycheck.

Well if that is the case, then he should be...he should make himself very aware of ticket prices fans have to pay! And after saying that, I've always found his UK prices fine!

It don't understand why he/his team would take the trouble to post this if it was a lie? Surely they would just not say anything.
if you google something enough you will eventually get the answer that you want.
this same thing was on here years ago and when M played the big sheds his pay day was £100,000 and that left the venue to price the tickets however they wanted,i cant see him having anything to do with ticket prices, for a start he wouldnt have a clue how much to charge as hes not business minded.

brummie we know your loyalty is with taylor swift these days, nothing wrong with that.
its all about the money, could be a skinny post.
see your going to see naseebo lal tonight, wonder if she sets her own ticket prices,,,enjoy.

Morrissey sets an all-inclusive fee, middle-man promoters decide if they want to book him in their region at that fee, then the promoters secure venues and determine ticket prices.

Morrissey then performs the show (ideally :ROFLMAO:) for his fee + merch sales.

Promoter then pays the venue and associated costs (security, promotion, ticketing, etc.). Hopefully the promoter makes some money after they've paid out all expenses.

This is how concert promotion works. Morrissey doesn't sit around pondering what he should charge for lower balcony left tickets at the Boise Community Theatre.

I'm pretty sure Mick Jagger has a little more input than what you outlined, on his little Rolling Stones tours. :guitar::p

Um no, not at all. I find el Gordo to be untruthful in saying that only I find Morrissey to be a bit of a liar.

No, he said … ‘its only people like you’. So, not only you.
