What Morrissey and Marr tour? What have you been smoking?

I think at this point only the wise and sombre words of one Taylor Swift can do justice to this sorry situation (while playing one of Johnny's signature Fender guitars, no less):

I tell you what, when either Johnny or Morrissey dies, there will be major “fuc k, we should have done at least one show for a DVD” vibes going on in the remaining one standing’s mind.

Glenn Danzig and Jerry Only famously hated the shit out of each other, but buried the hatchet and did Misfits shows before everyone got too old.

As Morrissey once wrote, use your loaf.

Ah well, there's always AI. I'd pay good money to see a 93 year old Morrissey interacting with a hologram Marr... Or maybe just a mop with a wig on it.

Of course we don’t know the full context, but it would appear so. Could wade to shore but seemingly doesn’t want to get wet.
Actually that should've been "Shipwrecked inches away from the bay". I haven't listened to Sweetie Pie for ages, but I do love that song.

I don't long for a Morrissey and Marr reunion but I still hold out for a Morrissey and Whyte reunion though. I realise we did get a brief one and an album we will probably never hear. The current line up if you can call it that, doesn't do much for me. They were okay live but there wasn't much presence on stage at all.

But he goes walking in the rain just to get wet on purpose

The music industry was/is littered with difficult people; R n B divas who demanded their dressing rooms are decorated in a certain way ; Rock stars demanding that certain colour M & Ms be removed from the bowl. Their managers/ record companies bit their tongue and said nothing because the ego/hassle was outweighed by the money they made from these people.

Morrissey's last few album releases sold in pitiful numbers. His attitude/behaviour is just another reason not to take his calls.
Do we know the sales figures for his last few albums as I can't find them. I heard that there was a dip with 'I Am Not a Dog on a Chain' but I understood that 'Low In High School' sold well.

In week of release, Low in High School sold 25,000 and survived 3 or so weeks in top 100.
In week of release, Dog on a Chain sold 6,000 and left the top 100 immediately.
Low in High School got much worse reviews but had one of Morrissey's most successful ever airplay 'hits' in Spent the Day in Bed. Makes all the difference.
His albums sell in decent enough numbers (tens of thousands) if Radio 2 playlist the lead single. Same for most of the acts of that generation.

Don't forget the implications of a worldwide pandemic.
UK lockdowns coincided almost exactly with the release date of Dog on a Chain.

Undoubtedly one of the many frustrations that contributed to Morrissey's 'con-vid' comments.

Dog came out at the worst possible time. Wasn't it literally the week we went in to full lockdown or the week before. It'd be interesting to know what promotion we could have seen.

Peter Katsis and Merck both managed Axl Rose/Guns n Roses interestingly. Merck at the same time as Morrissey!

Both seemed to be very good managers for Axl and Moz, 2004 to 2008 (and 2009 of course) was the golden era for solo Morrissey in terms of public appearances, touring successfully, big albums and singles and media image.
