Speaking of unreleased music, have you got any insight on that rumor about the actual bonfire of teenagers that’s planned to take place for the new years date? I heard Morrissey will be leading a mass ritual to summon big record labels to release his albums. Doesn’t he have a whole speech planned out too that ends with, “It’s Morrissin Time” before he takes his shirt off and jumps into the crowd?

Or am I just making this up?
its morrissin time,is that a new thing.

Thin gruel here true believers...

lacklustre band does same setlist as recent tour...

unreleased albums never get released...

Smiths long overdue box set of Demos, Tate mixes, rare gigs etc remains a pipe dream as singer insists guitarist "wants to remain on his pedestal" & not work with him

Moz is an artist entering freefall, disappearing quietly into history, all of his own making too, although this reality can never be acknowledged!

Not saying this to
Anyone have any idea what you get with an over $400 platinum ticket when standing is $118 and standard balcony is $172?
I'm not having a go Americans; I like them, it's why I bought a pad n Austin.
But its kinda shocking how much M drills them for cash. When he said " You are The quarry" on his American LP, he was not fecking kidding. When I started working a lot in the USA. about 2005, and started going to M concerts. At first, I was excited, because American fans are very different from UK ones, they just treat famous people, and heroes differently. I was amazed how much Moz charged
for tickets, mainly in Los Angeles. When he played in the Hollywood Bowl, it was like $500 a seat. Just normal gigs are $250 , unless you want to watch from the car park. The irony is, his gigs in Los Angeles are just no way as good as his London ones, which really surprised me. From say, 2010 onward he phoned it in on a regular basis when he played LA. He was better in Chicago, New York , etc

Wouldn't it be amusing one day to discover that all this time Morrissey has been secretly...happy?
He often is very happy. He just has ALOT of demons and some bad habits, like lots of people,
I like to ham things up for interviews and his lyrics

His official Instagram says he “will be leading the countdown from stage”. Unless it’s a prerecorded video, he is marketing this as tho he will indeed stick around until Midnight.

Interesting that this language only appears on the Instagram caption. When Pete was managing M, Pete was doing the Instagram posts. Since he’s gone, that means it was either M or the nephew most likely posted that.

Weird they wouldn’t put this on the actual show poster since it is a selling point. But just like the lack of details on the YATQ20 shows, there aren’t really any here. You have to dig on the ticketing site to even see 8:30 doors, 9:30 show. Which is very late for a Moz show, especially with an opening band (which requires a change over) So probably opening band at 9:30 to prolly 10:15? Then changeover with midnight happening just as Morrisseys set would end? That timing still seems really tight.

These are just so poorly marketed.
be funny if he did do it . Very show biz
Trouble is , it would invade his boozing time
I’m looking forward to the gig . I’ve got to say be fecking interesting to see if he can match Suedes performance at the venue. People were talking about that gig for months

I saw Moz and cat and fiddle a few times but I started working in LA at the tale end his adventure there
He and Tina were meant to be very very happy at one point . I think if he wouldn’t have had some issues things may have been more permanent , I know this isn’t what the gays want to hear or. the racists considering she is Iranian

The countdown, 3.. 2.. 1.. "Happy New Year!" Balloons drop. Mariachi music plays. Moz frisbees BOT and Without Music CDs into the crowd. Eh? 😂

Side note:
Why the heck am I only able to give thumbs up reactions, btw? As soon as I hit the reaction button it just automatically puts a thumbs up. Anyone else have this problem? FWD, help me, lol. 🥲

I wouldn't presume that Morrissey's set will automatically end at midnight. My guess is he will probably start his set around 11pm, then there will be a pause in the set as midnight approaches for Morrissey to lead an onstage countdown, Camila playing 'Auld Lang Syne' & balloon drop, then the set will carry on with a few songs and end around 00:30am.

At the very least he'll do an encore after midnight - otherwise how much of an anti-climax would it be? '3,2,1...Unhappy 2025 everybody! Thanks for coming, now please immediately make your way out of the venue whilst a video plays onstage of some guy shooting themselves in the head!'

I’d guess you are probably right. It’s still just awful marketing for this show however. I guess Morrissey and his agent just expect us to show up regardless of all the “recent fiascos” without having to give us basic fecking info on the night.

This pattern, repeated for over a decade, is why he used to sell out 8 nights at the Palliadium, and is now struggling to fill 1 night.

Yep, it's doin' the same.

Me and Charlie Boy were thinkin' of
ridin' that long mile and catchin' the
New Year celebration.
Turns out it weren't in the cards this
time.
If anyone else goin' could bestow some
cheer on behalf of me and Charlie Boy,
it'd be appreciated.

No, no, very common phrase actually. I believe it dates back to the 13th century.
are you sure you never meant morrissey.
my clan goes back to the 12th century but would doubt the name morrissey would.

i saw suede last year and even knowing what a good band they r i was still surprised at the intensity of the performance. i was actually paying attention to songs like cant get enough they were so good. manics were good but just ok. morrisseys shows for me had more to them than the manics much as i like them on record

According to this site, "The first recorded spelling of the family name is shown to be that of Niall O'Morrissey, of Sligo, which was dated 1659."
