But maaaaan, has he got merch!!! Remember the time, when there were 1-2 tour-shirts. Love 'em or hate 'em. Now the foyer can't be big enough. But where is his artistical relevance with new music?

Merch? I'm waiting for the Moz steak knife set to make its appearance. And the Moz egg cup set. And the Moz fish turner. Then I'll be a happy punter. I'm not interested in his t shirts with his younger self on (as I wear thermal long sleeve shirts now) or caps with his name on (as my old flat cap does the trick). Rant over.

Curious. What do you want to see in the setlist?
I wish he would do earlier material, from Viva Hate, Bona Drag and Your Arsenal, he can skip a lot from Kill Uncle. Also some different Smiths songs, there are so many to choose from.
I saw him on the first 2 solo tours and thought he was great, and also on the Greatest Hits in 2007 and thought he had a very solid setlist then - so I am not impossible to please, would just like to see him reach back a bit more and change it up. Most bands know there are songs they have to play because the fans want to hear them, but he doesn't really seem to care because he has basically been recycling this setlist with small variations for a few years now.
I sometimes wonder if people who go to shows are original fans or newer fans and they have no idea what they missed in the beginning or even with the Smiths.
I think he needs a better band too, better musicians.
Maybe I just got a bit spoiled from those early set lists being played by Alain, Boz, Gary and Spencer.

Fatty and Ripper as remnants of the ill-advised Beethoven reissue, Telephone as the only new song of his unreleased masterpieces, far too many dispensable ROTTities, far too much Quarry as a reminiscence for the rushed and then "forgotten" January concerts and of course the hard Vegas core, for whom all this is pure madness: is this what the recapture of relevance and worldwide (indie) popularity, that he so massively demands, looks like? Ask yourself.
Well, with pending news that BOT will be getting a release, he likely held off playing anything 'new' for that reason.

I think I missed that news, when and how is BOT getting a release? Thank you.

Thank you

It’s unforgivably cruel that he chooses to play the shit out of silly old Fatty, the only truly weak song off an otherwise strong and classic album, and continues to ignore all of the other songs - most of which are hard-hitting classics.

Show looked great

‘Silly old Fatty’ was a great single, and remains much loved from what I’ve witnessed at concerts.

V glad it went ahead. I always hope for at least 5 brilliant songs in a Morrissey setlist, and that one's got 8 in my opinion so I'd be happy enough. Pretty depressing that he's brought back some truly dismal b-sides though e.g. If you don't like me, and Morrissey Song Disaster 1958.
All in all, though, it's good that Morrissey has managed to assemble a band, and is still looking/sounding good post 65. Well done!

Morrissey sounding great, setlist a pleasant & welcome surprise, at this stage , think just savour the gigs & that he’s still able to do shows, hopefully he’s back in U.K. / Europe for gigs later in the year

I’m certainly not missing the tunes off the unreleased last albums (bar maybe night pop dropped) and the conspiracy theories / politics.

A fantastic opening followed by YTOFMF, which stumbled in the middle (you are forgiven Walker). No doubt a focus on YATQ due to the anniversary shows that never were, or purely just because it is the 20th anniversary of that album. Either way, lovely to hear tracks off that album that haven't been played live in many, many years.

IWYL and SETTR aside, no song after 2006 was played.

He is back, in good form and sounded better than ever! In Moz we LOVE!

After watching the YT video, it looks like Carmen was the one who messed up in Fatty. She went for the solo too early. I agree with the others, the rhythm section sounded great.

Did I mention he looks like a retired accountant from middle America going to enjoy brunch with his wife of 42 years, Janet. He looks oddly at ease with old age. No danger, no rebellion, in a way he seems less pressured, knowing he doesn't have to compete with anyone anymore.

It was lovely to read through this thread this morning in bed and listen to all of the videos that were posted. I love the concert footage, but at the cost of seeing all of the phones in the air; am I the only one who feels slightly annoyed and saddened by it? /Shrug. He sounds great! He seems really nervous! Devilishly shy! But at times, confident! I can't wait to see him. He looks and sounds wonderful to me!

The news about how long people waited in line is disheartening but typical, but I know I'll simply get what I'm willing to give when it comes to waiting in line. I just hope I can at least SEE him on the stage and that my husband and I won't be way off to the side. Weird set up. Still excited! Still antsy, now more than ever!

I wonder if the set list will remain the same or change each night? We will see! Tonight's another show! Followed by some good rest to ready for next "weekend"!

Good luck, Morrissey!!! I love you!
Can't wait to see you next Friday!!
