I wonder if this post will be picked up by some of the press, and if Morrissey will be getting stick for it, heavy sigh.

Since they peddle celebrity news 24/7, no... but I don't put Morrissey on a moral level with TMZ just yet, thankfully. What a stupid thing to say.
Amy…
All I was/am saying, is if TMZ or some other news outlet would have announced it first, I don’t think anyone would have had a problem with it.
Morrissey has catapulted The Dolls back into the limelight since 2004 and been probably their biggest single and longest fan.
If anyone - other than family was to announce it, Moz certainly would be it.
How is what I said “stupid” to you?

The reason that nobody would have a problem with an announcement from somewhere like the New York Times is because the reporters would have to confirm the death with the family or an official spokesperson first, as they have. Being a fan (or even a family friend) doesn't automatically make Morrissey that person, so your comment about TMZ is a false equivalence. I can't understand why a matter of such basic respect and decency has to be explained?

I can't fathom how something so basic has to be explained to any reasonable adult, frankly.
Ok, I see your point, and thank you for taking the time to explain.
I apologize for coming off as uniformed or stupid.
Hope you have a nice rest of your Saturday!

David Johansen, Who Fronted the New York Dolls and More, Dies at 75

His death was confirmed by his stepdaughter, Leah Hennessey.

Think Mozzer will be watching the Old Grey Whistle Test performance today:

The fact that people here feel obliged to judge every single move by M is beyond me. You know nothing about his private life and still point your fingers as if he’s supposed to follow your standards. If he did something wrong, let the DJ family take care of it; it’s between them. But I think, after all, they’re grateful for all of M’s support over the years.

This was truly disgustin'.
Moz is in great sorrow over David's
passin' and ya wanna use it as a
opportunity to kick Moz while he's
down.
Won't even do somethin' like this
to my worst enemy.

Thanks to Moz getting the Dolls back together I got to see them live years after only hearing of their legendary music. Such a treat and education. Sad day indeed

All the cracks on the map of my heart from all the contours and all the heartbreak lines make a topography full of ridges and deep furrows, chasms and valleys. I’m too sad for words and too sad to read these all these idiotic and awful comments and too sad to be on this website and too sad to even know this happened, and too sad to know exactly which deep fissures will always be etched on me now for David. Stealing all my favorite flowers for Morrissey 🖤

This is a Big loss. Not just from a (legendary) musical standpoint but I always felt David Johansen was all about happiness. He was always about a good time not just for himself but wanting others to participate in it as well. He lived his life to the fullest. RIP David.

Not a Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan, either.
hes more of a Charmed fan, well they did use how soon is now as the title sequence theme for 8 seasons.
as for dj,sad when anyone dies becuse everyone had a family at one point.

Sad news. I was lucky enough to see the NY Dolls once (or a version of them) supporting Morrissey in Cork. They were very good. And that debut album still stands up today
