Alain Whyte gives 'Morrissey and Wine' podcast sneak peek at new Moz album

Alain Whyte, Moz's most prolific songwriter, appears on the latest episode of the 'Morrissey and Wine' podcast - out today. He reveals that the as-yet-unheard album 'Without Music The World Dies' has a 70s sound, 'Suspicious Minds' on the track listing is indeed a cover, which he says sounds great, and he tells us that Notre-Dame had extra lyrics which were cut out - plus plenty of other tidbits and stories.

We've also got Nanny Val back to react to 'The Operation', the ten-question trivia quiz returns and hosts Chris and George dissect the lyrics of one of Alain's tracks - 'Life is a Pigsty' from 'Ringleader of the Tormentors'.

Cheers everyone! 👋

At the end of the interview, Alain was asked if he'd work with Morrissey again in the future. He said he doesn't know and it depends if the circumstances seem right.

It's interesting that Alain states in the interview that Morrissey hasn't helped himself by some of the things he has done. I would imagine he is referring to things like his decision to wear a pin on TV and encouraging people in the UK to vote for a particular party. Alain may have a point. I have always argued that Moz would have done better to dwell in the land of ambiguity - where he has always belonged.

Yes, but MOZI is very easily led by nephews, tour managers and estate agents. Not to mention you poisoning the brains of the fan base on the fansite.

I have no idea. My instinct now is that it will never happen.

Alain revealed on social media last year that his reason for leaving was because of the behavior of the temporary tour manager (i.e. Donnie) but stressed that he had not fallen out with Morrissey. And while they may still be cordial, it's a shame that their working relationship appears over.

Morrissey was the one who wanted Alain back in the fold again. He was the one who arranged for a meetup with Alain in L.A. about re-joining the band and collaborating on songs again. And then when Alain brings up certain issues with "management," you don't bother to address or fix anything? You just let him walk away? I know Moz is non-confrontational, but you'd expect him to try to accommodate a guy who he's worked closely for 20 years.

Oh well. His life is an endless succession of people saying goodbye...

...........and it is a fun listen but I recommend they spend a bit more on wine so as not to be drinking something that likely tastes more like vinegar:LOL:
:ROFLMAO:
Since they tend to share the name of the wine label they're drinking, I also recommend they seek sponsorship from their wine merchant!

I haven't been here long but, as far as I can see, any toxicity towards Morrissey seems to be balanced out by the presence of 'Morrissey can do little or no wrong' types. And then there's the factor of the more middle-ground members to consider.
Yeah, it's really a mixed bag of fans and everyone's been so nice to me here. "Cozy" is how I'd describe it. ChatGPT just caught me up on a whole load of legal drama that I didn't know about, but I think it says a lot that I'm only just learning about it now.
