Morrissey Central "No Mask Mandate" (December 4, 2024)

December 4, 2024

Contrary to some Events Page information, no masks are required or encouraged at the upcoming Morrissey concerts in Los Angeles.

Where I live in the US, there are mandates for masks at medical offices for everyone, even those just there for an appointment or X-rays, etc., and masks are often encouraged elsewhere. Morrissey is accurate. California is especially fond of mandates and regulations.

How is Morrissey accurate and where outside of medical facilities are masks required? I just took my Mom to an urgent care in Los Angeles yesterday. Masks were not required. So even that may be changing.

A lot of websites still have outdated covid 19 policies on them that they've just forgotten (?) to remove, but you're not expected to follow.

Considering that masks do f*** all to stop the transmission of viruses, I don't think people should be allowed to wear them when accessing businesses and public services. It facilitates criminals, and promotes antisocial behaviour and a neglectful attitude towards brushing ones teeth which may be why EVERYONE but me seems to have atrocious breath these days. We all need to stop pandering to magical thinking.
You don't know how masks work.

Wearing an N-95 masks protects you. Wearing a regular masks protects others.

If only one person is wearing a regular mask they are doing nothing to protect themselves but are protecting others around them if the mask wearer has something that can be spread.

Thanks for the info, bro! 👍

Does someone wanna let Morrissey know that Covid-19 came from a lab and not a wet market which we all know he'd love to be the case. btw I'm no fan of these markets either.

SF Bay Area recently went to this. I just mentioned it in response to the person’s question about mandates in the US. It doesn’t affect concerts… yet.
I have seen lots of sites with dated policies listed so it doesn’t surprise me if he or someone noticed something like that and wanted to clarify. Whether I agree with everything he thinks, I like that he’s opinionated.
I think it’s nice he wants to see our aging, smiling, singing faces.

Scratching around for more crumbs of attention, this is lower than rock bottom

This is an odd post. I do not care for it.

I will give Morrissey the benefit of the doubt that he just wanted to take a jab at the wet market again. I think sometimes he thinks only of animal rights.

Where I live sometimes people are disrespectful and hateful towards those choose or need to wear a mask and that does not sit well with me.

Well, if all it takes is a N-95 mask to protect you, then why didn’t they just give those for the vulnerable to wear and not force untested vaccines on healthy individuals?

Alright, nerd.

He goes 7 pages deep to find the mask policy, but he also asks us to believe he doesn’t know how his ticket pricing works.

Also, good lord. He thinks it came from the wet market, not the fecking coronavirus lab next door?
It's a ridiculous post re the mask policy, I agree.

But with regard to the wet market / lab debate, I'm not sure we'll ever know and there's plenty of evidence suggesting it could well have been the former.

Agreed - in Australia they made the covid vaccine mandatory or else we could go nowhere (we had to show a certificate to prove we had the vaccinations), and they shut the borders between the states so we could not even travel between the states to see our loved ones even if they lived just over the border between Queensland and New South Wales. It divided our country in a terrible way. And the vaccines.............well we were all human guinea pigs I think really??????

Regarding masks - some people still wear them here especially if they are vulnerable - but most do not.
It has been a common practice here though for Asian people to wear masks even before Covid if they have a cold as respect to others not to spread it.

I have noticed a lot of businesses, venues & websites here still have the "covid rules" up as they forget to take them down - it is 2025 next year folks ..............please update your stuff :ROFLMAO:

I have even seen some places still with the big circles you had to stand on in queues to make sure you stay 1.5m apart :ROFLMAO:

Yes - Australia got into awful trouble for asking China to investigate and prove it was not from the Wet Markets. China's response was to stop importing Australian meat & wines & other produce etc to their country and that hurt the economy here - things are still a bit wobbly in relations between our countries with trade. Many farmers were financially ruined & the coal trade was affected too.

Fixed it:

As mozza about china… 🎯

If someone chooses to wear a mask that's their business and no one else's. If someone wears sunscreen to protect themselves from harmful UV rays (which is what we all do in the southern hemisphere where I live) should they be treated as a social pariah?

You don't know that mask wearer's circumstances.

They may be immunocompromised or looking after someone who is immunocompromised.

They may be scarred by seeing a loved one pass away from Covid - and many people have died and are continuing to die from Covid.

They may have had a terrible experience themselves with Covid and long Covid.

They may have read the scientific studies which support the wearing of masks to protect themselves and those around them.

They may have read the scientific studies which show that Covid is not just a cold as the powers that be say because they want business - and their profits - to keep ticking along. Covid is a serious cardiovascular disease which affects the heart, the brain and other organs.

They may actually have Covid.

I was seriously thinking about travelling to these shows but I've changed my mind now that Morrissey is publicly discouraging mask wearing and thereby encouraging the bullying of mask wearers.
