Morrissey Central "Madness." (December 1, 2024)

"Wikipedia confidently list me as an ex-member of Slaughter And The Dogs, and an ex-member of The Nosebleeds. I did not ever join The Nosebleeds and I have no connection whatsoever with Slaughter And The Dogs. Is there anyone at Wikipedia intelligent enough to set the record straight? Probably not." MORRISSEY, 2024.

Bloody editorial team at Wikipedia!

Just read through all this thread hoping to glean why he'd be so annoyed at being mixed up with incarnations of the Nosebleeds and SATDs. I mean - what would be wrong with it? It's all part of the legendary music scene of the time. Is it because it was a mega frustrating time for him and things weren't as straight forwardly meteoric as with Johnny?
I get it why Morrissey is upset if the information is not correct.
If I were in his shoes I would want to have the correct facts out there if possible too ;)
Especially on a platform that many think is reliable.
Not everyone knows Wiki can be a bit of a mish-mash of information.

Morrissey, who lies all the time, is upset Wiki says he was in bands it was widely reported he was in. This is definitely an emergency and needed to be posted to Central post haste. He knows how to whip up the diehards every single time :lbf:

Madness indeed, as in he's gone completely mad. Note the quotations on the remark, like he is being quoted and he didn't write it himself. What an absolute loser.
And again, for anyone thinking he is 'too old' to know how to use a computer or know how the internet works, there are pictures from the 90s 0f his house and he did indeed own a computer then. He turned 30 in 1998, most homes had computers and internet by then and plenty of people here and who are fans were in their 20s and 30s in the 90s, it was essential to be able to use a computer for a lot of jobs. This site went up in 1999? Yes, he can use the internet.
In 1998 9% of UK homes had internet. Today's it's over 90%. Sorry, but your memory of then is off. And the man been speeds were not speedy, hours to download stuff. Maybe we were all too worried about everything shutting down 2 years later.

Never knew there was a early Moz
song called I Get Nervous.
One of these interviews needs to ask
Moz about openin' for Jilted John.
That guy was a shootin' star.

my favourite comedian,to people who dont know graham fellows he had a song called jilted john and was at a loose end a few years later and came up with a character called john shuttleworth and iv been watcjing and laughing for the last thirty years.
and no gordon isnt a moron,
after the success of his song a magazine asked him to do an article with debby harry and the headline was, john isnt jilted anymore and he gets a kiss from ms harry who was stunning back then.

I just pray for his own sake that he never gets into tweeting or he’ll turn into Liam Gallagher
I don't understand who can believe that Morrissey doesn't know how to use the internet! It is obvious that he has a cell phone and that is the internet, if you do not use it you are out of the system, that's how it is all over the world... Morrissey knows more than any of us about the Internet and networks. He comes to this and to all the places where he is talked about. That's very obvious. Please stop making people believe that Moz ignores these issues. And for those who say that Moz is an old man, that is not so!!!

You mean universally lauded by fans and critics alike, filling stadiums all over the world, raking in hit album after hit album, without ever compromising his integrity or his image? Yeah, that would be awful…

but then his image is a bit onedimensional, don’t you find?
Each to their own, but apart from a brief period in the mid 90s I don’t think they are all that interesting.

Just my perception.

Maybe others will perceive him as a deep, multifaceted artist and lyricist.
He is who he is. And who he has always been. He’s not Ian Curtis, I’ll give you that, but he’s authentic.

Yeah, I like him too.
More Ian Brown then Ian Curtis certainly.

Just not the sort of artist I would be interested in career wise, but for a few years he definitely was great in his own way.

Maybe if those bands had had a bit more traction with M - more gigs and wider impact, (like Billy Idol and Generation X) he'd be a bit more relaxed about it.

It seems he’s frustrated as he claims the new line up was not the Nosebleeds as such.
Yes, agree. He sang in front of an audience for the first time. It's not about "boring old bands", it's about one of the turning points in his existence. So, it matters to him
